I love you so much. - Meditation M***a
If you've ever strolled down South Congress in Austin, you've likely seen the iconic mural that simply reads:
"I love you so much."
It's one of the most photographed spots in the city, but what many people don't know is that it wasn't created as a public art project. It began as a deeply personal gesture.
After an argument with her partner, Austin musician Amy Cook spray-painted those four simple words on the wall of Jo's Coffee as an expression of love and reconciliation. Instead of painting over it, the owners left it, and today people from around the world gather in front of those words to smile, celebrate, hug, and capture joyful moments. All because of one simple sentence.
It reminds me that words have power. A few thoughtfully chosen words can completely shift the energy of a moment. They can soften someone's heart, remind a stranger they matter, interrupt fear with hope, loneliness with connection, and stress with a smile.
If four painted words on a wall can brighten the lives of so many people, imagine the impact of the words we speak every single day.
Our words matter. The way we greet the cashier, encourage a friend, show patience with our kids, express gratitutde to our partner, share kindness with someone who is struggling makes an impact. Every moment is an opportunity to either add weight to someone's shoulders or help lighten their load.
Each morning we wake up with a choice. Will we be part of the problem or part of the solution? The beautiful thing is that making a postivie difference doesn't require grand gestures. Changing the world can be remarkably simple, like holding the door for someone. Listening without trying to fix, sending a thoughtful text, smiling at a stranger or saying, "I'm proud of you." is so powerful.
One small act of kindness can create a ripple effect that extends far beyond what we'll ever witness. A kind sentence spoken at just the right moment can change someone's moment, their day, or even the direction of their life.
Life is hard enough already. So here's my challenge for you this week. Be intentional with your words. Choose kindness, encouragement and patience. Choose love whenever you can.
You never know what battle another person is fighting, and you may never fully understand the impact your words have on them.
Let's create ripples of compassion wherever we go. And maybe, we can all help make this beautiful world a little brighter one kind sentence at a time.
With love,
Kim
