A quick update on three things.
Shoulder — physical therapy is done. Capped at 15 pounds with my right arm for the rest of August. Come September the weight limit goes away. Seven months of doing it the right way and the finish line is finally in sight.
School — week 6 of the doctorate. Carrying an A with two and a half weeks left in the term.
A day in the life — up at 8am with Apollo. Breakfast for both of us. Cold plunge three mornings a week. School work until 1pm. Lunch. Workout at 3pm — home or gym depending on the day. Post workout snack. Content and client check ins. Apollo's evening walk at 7pm. Dinner at 8pm. More school work. Planning. Sauna on non plunge nights. In bed by midnight.
And Apollo and I are on a 36 day step streak. His goal is 8500. Mine is 6500. He never misses. Neither do I.
This is what Train Hard. Recover Smart. actually looks like in real life.

The late nights have been rough lately.
But something unexpected comes out of them.
Reflection.
Over the last 7 years I have come a long way. Not just professionally but personally. And personally is where the real growth has happened.
I keep my personal life private for my own reasons. But the people who know what these last 7 years actually looked like — you know who you are. And I wouldn't be here without you.
We talk a lot about how no one is coming to save you. How you have to do the work yourself.
That's true.
But doing the work alone and doing it without support are two very different things.
Having people who give you a shoulder. Who tell you the unfiltered truth. Who show up without being asked.
That was the missing piece for me.
To the people who have been that — thank you.

I was listening to a song today — Sit By My Fire by Runa — and it took my mind somewhere unexpected.
Three ancient civilizations. Three philosophies. All of them woven into how I move through life every day.
The ancient Greeks — Socrates, Plato, Aristotle. Knowledge isn't just collected. It's lived and shared in a way that makes others better.
The Roman Empire — Marcus Aurelius led with patience, strategy, and Stoic discipline. Rome expanded carefully and when it moved too fast it crumbled. A reminder to grow steady and never overextend.
The Vikings — the way I train and live. Purpose. Precision. Strength that goes beyond the physical. Warriors who worked hard and lived fully. Comfortable being uncomfortable. Always striving. Never settling.
Three ancient worlds. One way of living.
I didn't expect a song to take me there today. But here we are.
