My favorite love story. Nothing is quite as intimate as the relationship we share with ourselves, and the beautiful modular vessels that we have the honor to nourish and play in. I can’t afford to forget how grateful I am to move with greater capacity each day. I love this body and the unconditional support it has given me throughout the past 15 years…that’s the love story.

So much more to come from this collection. Thank you for taking the time to create with me Alexander Scott Felice 🙏🏽😌

Want a THICK back with only a single dumbbell? As a personal trainer in Austin, I have to brainstorm various methods to reach the same goal…in this case, a gorilla back. Here are 3 considerations when targeting THICKNESS:

(1) Thickness refers to the muscles in between the shoulder blades (i.e. scapulae) or up & down the spine, meaning that you have to move your shoulder blades up, back, and/or down rather than movement through the shoulder or elbow joint. Any row movement, like the bent-over row will hit the mid-traps and rhomboids between the shoulder blades, taking care of the bulk of this.
(2) The lats can add to this “thickness”, but it is often seen as the “width” aspect of the back. While the lats can also get thicker, it is simply done through the growth of that muscle in general, which would be optimized through pull-downs where the lats are in the most lengthened state.
(3) If you want to work the rest of the “thickness” muscles, hit upper traps near the neck via any shrug variation, lower traps closer to your mid-lower back via scapular pull-downs (i.e. the initial setting of the shoulder blades in a pulldown), and the lower back extensors via spine-loaded movements such as back squats and deadlift variations.

Shortcut to looking muscular? As a Personal Trainer in Austin, clients often approach me wanting to add size to their frame and “look like they workout.” Here are my 3 pro-tips for that aesthetic edge:
(1) Shoulders & Traps - a broader and thicker look across the top of the torso is peak “Do you workout?” muscular targets, so spam those lateral raises & shrugs (tutorial shown).
(2) Chest - a pronounced chest quickly fills out any shirt, establishing a “strong” presence. DB bench press + chest flies are my go-to.
(3) Arms - not quite subtle, and subsequently noticed by most…do i have to explain this one?

Have small calves? As a Personal Trainer in Austin, I make sure you don’t neglect muscles that most people don’t even know about. The gastrocnemius & soleus (i.e. the calf muscles) are only half of your lower leg! The Tib Raise exercise is a movement working the front of the shin (the anterior tibialis muscle), improving your ability to pull your toes up towards your shin, and thus, athletic outputs like sprinting. This may also improve ankle stability and add additional size to the front of your lower legs when calf raises aren’t quite enough 😤
