Fun weekend at VIR for the N2 endurance races podiuming in both the 2 hour and the 6 hour.

First off I want to thank Cori and Dunlop Motorcycle Tires for the support this weekend, we couldn’t have done it without you!

The 2 hour went good, I qualified on the front row and it was a tricky race running Mike’s Aprilia 457 against a couple Motoamerica Kramers. The race got red flagged and after the restart I was able to get up into 2nd place and after a second red flag, they called the race.

The 6 hour was one to wish more of. I put me and Seth Dahmer on pole for the start of the race. After a few stints we had made our way to first in class with about a 1 lap lead. Once I got further into my stint I lost power down the back straight and had to limp it back to the pits. After our diagnosis we found it unfit to continue, since we had lost a rod bearing.

I want to thank all the people who made this happen, Matt and Freddy getting the bikes all ready, Mike for the support and the 457, Ethan Song for pit support, and Seth for being an awesome teammate.

Another successful weekend at Mid Ohio Sportscar Course with a 🥇 and a 🥉!

Started the weekend strong after testing and training with the Drane’s — led every session leading into race 1 and starting on pole really helped my confidence.

Race one got tricky with changing conditions. Sitting on the grid right before the lights went out, it started raining, and I had slicks on. Could feel the tires sliding on the warm up lap. Off the start Chapin got the launch on me, but it was still one of my better starts. Everyone was tip-toeing into turn one. After a lap Bodie passed me looking way more confident, so with the championship in mind I didn’t chase. Track got better late and I found myself battling 3 riders. Last lap I went for a pass on Mathew, he out-braked me and sent us both wide. Tried a couple more moves but couldn’t get him back.

Race two was dry, which I was happy about since I’d had some pace on the field all weekend. Got my first holeshot of the season (dad owed me $20 after 😂) and ran consistent 29’s. After a few laps Mathew was still on me but we’d gapped 3rd. Let him draft up, then found my window to send a draft pass to the line — it worked, so I let off a bit to let him back by. Last lap down the back straight we went wheel to wheel on braking. I knew the latest I could brake and still stay on track, went just before he did, knowing he’d run wide. Blew the corner too but just focused on the drive to the next one. Led into the esses knowing I had it if I rode defensively.

Ended the weekend +1 in the championship lead going into the 2nd to last round!
