The popular Sugar 'n' Spice from Sure-Grip will be back in stock next week. This fun little light-up skate is perfect for the little guys and gals, and it covers sizes 10J-4. If you want a kid to become a skater, get them in their own pair of skates.

Party Time kits and individual plates, cups, napkins, and placemats will be back in stock next week. Go ahead and get them on order, and we sill ship them out the day after we receive them. School's back and so are party bookings. Remember, that attending a birthday is most kids' first introduction to your roller rink. Show them a good time and CREATE SKATERS!

CREATE NEW SKATERS!
When confirming birthday parties, try including with your email an invitation to attend a free skate class before the session on Saturday morning. Be sure to ask them to forward it to everyone in their party. A simple class to make them feel comfortable getting on the floor once the session starts.
Why? Because birthday parties are full of non-skaters. If you can convert a few of them to skaters, they may become a customer for life.

CREATE SKATERS!!!
How do you create skaters? Well to start, focus on the three most important things in any roller rink – music, floor, and skates. These three things do not have to be perfect, but they must be good. If they are, then you can turn a first-time guest into a skater.

1. Music – How’s your sound system? Does it have dead spots? Do you have speakers that need to be replaced? Also, how’s your playlist? Do you just turn on the same playlist every session and let it run, or are you constantly updating the music? Also, never be afraid to stop a song in the middle if it’s sucking the energy out of the building.

If your sound system is bad, or if the music does not match the session, then people are not having a good time. This means that your facility is not a cool place to be, and people will not come back a second time. This means that they never become skaters.

2. Floor – How’s your skate floor? Is it dirty, too slick, in need of repair, or bumpy? If so, it does not create an enjoyable experience, and it means that some people will come once and never come back. Again, this means they do not become skaters, and we all want to create more skaters.

3. Skates – How are your rental skates? Are the wheels clean? Does your rental room smell nice? Are the skates in good repair? Skates do not have to be brand-new, but they need to be in good shape. If your skates do not perform well, then people are unable to improve in their skating ability. Good skates help create good skaters, but bad skates will chase customers away.

CREATE SKATERS!!! If you own a rink, a shop, a skate company, or if you're a coach, remember that your number one goal should be to create skaters.
