It's only 30 days until Dragoncon starts. Who else is excited as I am for those long lines, repetitive questions on where the galleria level is and what time the panel starts?
Make sure you are picking up your shifts in the best hotel (Hilton) and finishing your training videos.

Are You Ready to Defend the Dragon?

Wow time travels fast!
It seems that in just short of 9 weeks (please check my math) I will be pulling into the Hilton parking garage on mid-day of Tuesday to get a jump on our Wednesday set up day.

Our Safety department enjoyed a great team effort for a smooth convention in 2025, and we are hoping to see all of our Hilton team volunteers returning to make the 2026 even better!

Will You Be There?

Does anyone know which year they started giving out "volunteer tshirts"?

Someone asked me how many of my shirts were from DragonCon.

Missing out on my paycheck to take a week off work, to work harder than I do at my actual job, on my feet for 16+ hours a day, sometimes with only 3 hours of sleep, and going from solving one crisis to the next...

And yes I miss it,
and I miss the comradery and teamwork of volunteering along side all of you!

Quick question!

How many volunteers from the Hilton made it to the Volunteer Day?

It is a bit of a hike to commute from Florida, but it would be so nice to hang out and visit with all the folks we work with every year without being dragged away every few minutes by the next convention emergency!

Just thinking about it I feel like I'm talking myself into it. Give a shout out if you made it to the event this year!

With our recent Safety Director's meeting, we are looking forward to the revamp of our Dragoncon Safety Training Videos.

Safety has been using the last version with only small changes / additions every year, so I'm very interested in what they are looking to add or change.

It will of course take a few months of writing and production until it is ready for use, and then all of our volunteers from our "walk ons" to our Senior Director will be completing the new version of the training.
