It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow Wings Soccer Club member, Tariye “T” Ekineh, who passed away on Thursday, July 16.
T was one of those rare people who made every field, every gathering, and every conversation better simply by being there. He always had a smile on his face, welcomed everyone, and had a unique gift for connecting people and building friendships. Whether you knew him for years or had just met him, he made you feel like you belonged.
Beyond Wings, T dedicated more than a decade to the Northeast Georgia soccer community, mentoring players, managing teams including Wings, coaching at Silverbacks Park, and leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. His legacy extends far beyond the game—it lives in the relationships he built, the people he inspired, and the kindness he showed every single day.
T leaves behind his wife and two young sons, Niko (6) and Kaio (3). As a soccer community, we’d like to come together for his family just as T always brought people together for others.
