The SIAC

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opens the 2026 football season with a full slate of non-conference action during Week 0, as member institutions take the field against opponents from across the NCAA Division II, FCS and NAIA landscapes. The opening weekend features a mix of regional matchups, renewed series, first-time meetings and compelling storylines as teams begin their pursuit of the 2026 SIAC Football Championship. Week 0 action gets underway Saturday, August 29, with games throughout the afternoon and evening before the opening weekend concludes Sunday, August 30, when Tuskegee meets West Alabama in the nationally televised Red Tails Classic at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama.

SIAC Announces 2026 Women's Volleyball Preseason Honors ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2026 preseason all-conference women's volleyball teams, individual honors and predicted order of finish on Wednesday, featuring eight returning players from the 2025 All-SIAC lineup.

SIAC Announces Contract Extension for Commissioner Anthony Holloman Through 2029

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Council of Presidents has unanimously approved a contract extension for Commissioner Anthony Holloman, Ed.D., through 2029, reaffirming its confidence in his leadership and vision for the future of the conference.

The extension was approved during the Council of Presidents’ 2026 Summer Board Meeting in Atlanta following its annual review of Holloman’s performance. The extension continues his leadership as the conference advances its strategic priorities centered on championship excellence, student-athlete success, programmatic growth and increased national visibility.

Morehouse College was honored as the inaugural recipient of the 2025-26 Georgia Power Community Impact Award on Wednesday, July 22, during the 2026 SIAC Football Media Day presented by Georgia Power at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, Georgia. 🏈⚡️

Established through Georgia Power’s partnership with the SIAC, the award recognizes SIAC institutions in Georgia that excel in community service, campus engagement and charitable giving during the academic year.

Southern Company Senior Recruiting Consultant Kenneth Holiday presented the award. Holiday works extensively in campus recruitment and student programming, engaging with universities and overseeing diversity and HBCU recruitment initiatives throughout the region.

The journey to the 2026 SIAC Football Championship began Wednesday, July 22, as student-athletes, coaches and administrators representing 12 of the conference’s football programs gathered at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, Georgia, for the 2026 SIAC Football Media Day presented by Georgia Power. 🏈

Participating teams met with more than 40 media members following in-depth panel discussions led by returning media day moderator Marvin L. James II. A 26-year veteran sports reporter, James currently serves as director of media relations for the Georgia High School Association.

“This event serves as a spotlight for our football student-athletes as they prepare for the upcoming season,” said SIAC Commissioner Anthony Holloman, Ed.D. “Football media day brings together the best of the best: the young men who are leaders on our campuses. They excel on and off the field while representing their institutions with class, dignity and humility.”

SIAC football teams completed volunteer service projects Tuesday, July 21, as part of the SIAC/Georgia Power Community Service Day. 🏈⚡️

Participants packed more than 600 backpacks with back-to-school supplies at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia and concluded the day by volunteering at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, supporting patients and families. 🎒🏨
