🔥 Leaner & 💪 stronger than ever
🍷 still allowed
If you have to work REALLY hard every time you want to lose weight… only to gain it back when you stop…
Maybe the problem isn’t that you need to try harder.
Maybe you need to understand why your body keeps requiring so much effort in the first place.
That’s exactly what we’re figuring out in my free workshop.
Comment FIT and I’ll send you the link. ❤️
This comment is exactly why I wanted to make this post.
Not because she’s wrong about alcohol.
She isn’t.
Alcohol is a toxin. There is no amount of wine I’m going to pretend is “healthy,” and I’m definitely not encouraging anyone to start drinking.
But “what’s the point of working out if you still drink wine?” is the exact all-or-nothing thinking I want women to get away from.
What’s the point of wearing sunscreen every day if you’re going to forget it once in a while?
What’s the point of keeping your house clean if your kitchen is going to be a disaster again after dinner?
We would never say that.
Because doing something good consistently doesn’t become worthless because you occasionally do something that isn’t ideal.
And yet with health, we’ve somehow decided it’s perfection or nothing.
No wine.
No dessert.
No dinners out.
Never miss a workout.
Never have a bad day.
And if you’re not willing to do all of that… why even bother?
THAT is the problem.
Because when getting healthy requires giving up your entire life, a lot of people simply won’t start.
I would much rather see a woman improve her nutrition, lift weights, walk more, sleep better, lose excess body fat and improve her health…
…and still have a glass of wine on Friday if she chooses…
than decide none of it is worth doing because she isn’t willing to be perfect.
You don’t have to do everything to do something incredibly meaningful for your health.
Stop chasing the perfect lifestyle.
Build a better one you can actually keep. ❤️
Looking back, my body had been warning me for months.
I just didn’t know how to read the signs.
I was lean, training for triathlons and looked incredibly healthy.
So I explained everything away.
I started struggling to fall asleep.
Then I’d wake up around 3 AM and couldn’t fall back asleep.
But I had SO much energy, so I thought I was fine.
Then my workouts changed.
Instead of finishing energized, I’d finish absolutely DESTROYED. Like I can no longer participate in society tired. 😂
Then came the food thoughts.
After long workouts, I remember craving an entire roasted chicken.
Not a chicken breast.
The chicken. 😂
And somehow I interpreted that as needing MORE willpower.
I became ridiculously snappy too.
Someone chewing next to me could suddenly make my blood boil.
WHY ARE YOU CHEWING SO LOUD?! 😂
I blamed stress.
My libido dropped.
And something that had always been easy started feeling impossible:
discipline.
I’d start Monday determined to “be good” and a few days later I’d be ravenous, wondering where my willpower went.
So I did exactly what I thought I should:
I ate less.
I trained harder.
And eventually the weight started coming.
Almost 50 pounds.
So I restricted MORE. Exercised MORE.
And made everything worse.
Eventually I realized I hadn’t suddenly become lazy or lost my discipline.
I’d spent months asking MORE from a body that was already struggling to keep up.
That experience changed the way I coach women today.
When a woman is eating less, exercising more and STILL not getting results, I don’t think:
“She needs to try harder.”
I think:
“We need to figure out WHY her body stopped responding.”
Because the scale isn’t always the first warning sign.
Sometimes it’s your sleep, hunger, mood, libido or workouts.
And if you keep answering those signs with more restriction and more exercise, you may be solving the wrong problem.
That’s exactly what I’m teaching in my FREE workshop this Wednesday.
If you’re over 40 and your body isn’t responding like it used to, comment FIT and I’ll send you the link.
Plot twist: I’m choosing the right. 😂🍷🍿
And before somebody calls the nutrition police…
No, I’m not saying wine is healthy.
No, I’m not saying popcorn is “better” than M&Ms.
I’m saying they’re both around 400 calories.
And if I have 400 calories to “spend,” I know which one is going to make ME happier: a glass of wine, a ridiculous amount of popcorn, and a movie. 😂
You might look at this and think, Give me the M&Ms.
PERFECT. That’s the point.
Nutrition doesn’t always have to be about choosing the option that looks the most “healthy.”
Sometimes it’s about choosing what satisfies you enough that you don’t feel like you’re on a diet.
Because if your plan requires eliminating wine, sugar, carbs, desserts and everything you enjoy… how long are you really going to follow it?
I’d rather teach you how to make the things you LOVE fit into your life.
Same calories. Different experience. Sustainable beats perfect.
Now tell me:
LEFT 🍫 or RIGHT 🍷🍿?
No nutritional explanations allowed 😂
I feel personally attacked by this corner every single day.
We clean it…
it comes back.
We organize it…
it laughs at us.
And the worst part?
Nothing in there is hard to put away.
It’s all the “I’ll do it later” stuff.
The 30-second decisions that turn into a pile.
And yeah… this is exactly how we get out of shape too.
Not one big mistake.
Just a bunch of small things we keep throwing in the corner.
The drive-thru because we’re in a hurry.
Skipping the workout because “today is crazy.”
“I’ll start tomorrow.”
Same corner. Different form.
The fix isn’t a reset, a detox, or motivation.
It’s deciding… this doesn’t get to be a corner anymore.
Anyway—brb, going to put that olive oil where it actually belongs before I become the corner
