How does ageism show up at work? Rarely as a policy. Usually as an assumption.
In AARP's new survey of workers 50 and older, 64% said they had seen or experienced age discrimination on the job. Ask what it looks like day to day?
It shows up as being assumed less tech-savvy. As the assumption that you resist change. As generational jokes, expertise that goes unrecognized, and training that goes to someone younger.
