🦅💚 Busy Week for Eagles Athletics 💚🦅

Lake Shore Athletics has a full slate this week. Tuesday is the busiest night with nine matchups across Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball, Swimming, and Cross Country, and Wednesday keeps things rolling with Boys Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross Country back in action. Modified Volleyball heads to Lackawanna Thursday before Friday brings Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, and Boys Soccer.

Saturday closes out the week with a full slate at home and on the road, capped by Varsity Football at West Seneca East at 2:00. Come out and cheer on our student-athletes all week long!

🦅💚 A Big Week Ahead for Eagles Athletics 💚🦅

It's a loaded week for Lake Shore Athletics. Tuesday brings five matchups across Varsity Golf, Boys and Girls Soccer, Girls Swimming, and Girls Tennis, and Wednesday is even busier with six teams in action, including Girls and Boys Volleyball taking on Amherst and Iroquois. Thursday keeps things rolling before Varsity Football closes out the week at Medina Friday night at 7:00.

Saturday wraps it all up with Volleyball and Girls Soccer on the road. Come out and cheer on our student-athletes all week long!

A Standing Ovation for Gary Tribula 🦅

Before kickoff at Friday night's home opener, the Lake Shore community stopped everything to celebrate a legend. Athletic Director Daryl Besant presented Gary Tribula with a plaque honoring 58 years of service to the district, joined on the field by his family and friends.

Gary started at Lake Shore in 1968 as a middle school math teacher, spent 33 years shaping students in the classroom, and coached football, wrestling, baseball, and swimming along the way.

Decades after retiring from teaching, he never really left, running the game clock and holding down the scorers' table at Lake Shore athletic events ever since.

His plaque now has a permanent home inside the new press box, right where he'll keep working the clock for years to come.

Friday Nights Are Back 🦅

Our stands were packed and our community showed up in full force for Friday night's home opener. Students, families, alumni, and neighbors filled the bleachers, and the energy on that field said everything about what makes Lake Shore special.

Lake Shore football kicks off the season at home tonight, and we want the whole community there to cheer the team on. Grab your friends, your family, and come out for a great night of football.

Lake Shore hosts Williamsville South tonight at 6:30 PM at the Lake Shore Central High School stadium. See you in the stands!

The New Grandstand is Ready! 🦅

Tonight is the first official night fans get to sit in Lake Shore's brand new grandstand, part of Phase 2 of our athletics facility upgrades. We could not be more excited for the community to come out and use it for the very first time.

Keep watching too, crews are already building the new multipurpose fields as the next step in our complete renovation of the athletics facilities. It is a very exciting time to be an Eagles fan.

⚽🏈💚 Eagles Week Ahead: Aug 31 – Sept 6

It's a busy week for Lake Shore Athletics. Girls JV and Varsity Soccer travel to Iroquois Wednesday at 5:30, Boys Varsity Soccer hosts Depew Thursday at 5:30, and Varsity Football opens the season at home against Will South Friday at 6:30. JV Football wraps up the week Saturday at 10:00, also at Will South.

Come out and support our student-athletes all week long.

Crossing Boundaries & Time Zones: Chris Martin's Arctic Midnight Swim 🦅

Lake Shore alumnus Chris Martin ('1984) and his daughter Caroline recently took on Swimac 2026, an extraordinary 3km open-water midnight race in the icy 62.5-degree Torne River between Finland and Sweden. Splashing off at 12:05 a.m., the pair swam across the Arctic Circle and an international border—even crossing a time zone, allowing swimmers finishing in under 55 minutes to technically complete the race the day before they started.

Chris placed 8th in the men's division with a time of 34:45, while Caroline captured 3rd in the women's division at 33:11. From captaining the LSC Eagle Rays varsity swim team to taking on midnight Arctic waters, Chris continues to embody the lifelong passion and grit built right here at Lake Shore!

Today, we honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a moment to reflect on the principles of liberty and community that shape our nation and our classrooms. We hope our students, families, and staff take time to appreciate the past while looking forward to the future we are building together.
