Flat-base hardware never really went away. There’s a reason for that.

Less weight. A clean footprint around the kit. Plenty of room to put things where you actually want them.

Ludwig Classic Hardware keeps the profile that drummers have known for generations, with the function and adjustability expected from modern hardware.

Four stands. One unmistakable look.

Who’s still playing flat-base hardware?

Built around Ludwig’s modern take on the 3-ply maple/poplar/maple shell formula, Legacy Maple carries forward a short-lived but deeply influential era of Ludwig drum making. First introduced in 1968, this second-generation 3-ply design became known for its clear attack, full-bodied low-end, and focused response.

Configuration:

8x12 tom
14x14 floor tom

Add-on snares:
5.5x14 Jazz Fest
6.5x14 Raw Striped Brass
