Sunday, were back at it with a double-header at Clermont Park and sporting fresh unis to honor the dedication and many sacrifices of our US armed forces. On the diamond, their bats continued to ring out as they faced an incredibly talented Arlington Arsenal squad, capturing wins in both matchups and improving to 10-0 on the season.

Last weekend, were at it again for Wi******er, VA’s Battle of the Bats tournament, and well… they certainly brought theirs along. Through two bracket play wins, the Legends earned a 3rd seed entry in the prestigious Gold Bracket, then at the culmination of a perfect 4-0 weekend took home the ‘Ship Sunday evening under the lights. Through those four wins they poured it on, plating a whopping 64 runs (allowing just 15) on their way to bringing home the tournament’s highest honors.

Last weekend, Clermont Park came alive as two of our Legends teams - and - took their games up another notch against four additional Northern Virginia area 10U squads at the inaugural Pioneer Baseball Classic! In addition to their well honed skills - hitting, pitching, catching and fielding - both teams explored new-to-them lead off and pickoff attempts as they faced teams along fresh 65ft base paths. 9U showed off the baseball skill that’s made them so formidable even against older opponents, as our 10U crew went 4-0, capturing the very first PBC Championship crown! From the first moments of baseball action, through its Inaugural Home Run Derby, Championship game and beyond, the Pioneer Baseball Classic was filled with highlights, incredible friendships across area teams, memories made and so much more, cementing it as an exciting area staple for years to come! Yep! We’re back at it. After a little summer R&R our Pioneer Legends teams are rejuvenated and reinvigorated for the fall season and beyond. Practices have been going for weeks, but last weekend our 11U and 10U squads met for a friendly scrimmage; iron sharpening iron, kicking off the rust and getting back into the swing of things as they aim to start their seasons this coming weekend! Let’s get after it, boys!

12U Green are ROLLING! ⚾💚
The boys have been on fire, outscoring opponents 73–25 over their last four games and playing their best baseball of the season.

Two of those wins came on Mother’s Day, making the celebrations even sweeter. 🌸💚 Nothing beats big smiles, big hits, and big hugs with the moms who make it all possible.

Last Sunday, our Legends teams and the broader Northern Virginia baseball community celebrated the life of Rob Hahne by wearing yellow ribbons; a nod to his incredible influence in our region, but also to a cause close to his heart: pediatric cancer awareness.

Rob’s many contributions to broadening and deepening a passion for this game and its ability to serve youth athletes in our own area and beyond simply cannot be overstated. His loss leaves a void impossible to fill, but his influence will stand as a testament and a challenge to the many coaches and the lives he influenced to continue to grow this game the right way – with character, passion and commitment at the center – and with it, instill the very best within the athletes we serve and the incredible people they are becoming.

Through so many avenues, Rob did it right. May his commitment and legacy continue to be a guide to us all.
