Here’s your weekend wellness assignment:
Connect with someone who makes you feel GOOD.
Call the friend.
Take the walk together.
Meet for coffee.
Invite someone to work out with you.
Sit outside with your spouse and actually talk.
We often think wellness is something we have to accomplish alone.
It isn’t.
Connection is part of health, too.
Tag someone who makes your life a little lighter. 💛

We talk about workouts and nutrition all the time.
But what happens when you don’t sleep?
Everything feels harder.
Your workout feels harder.
Your cravings can feel louder.
Your patience gets shorter.
And making healthy choices suddenly requires a LOT more effort.
So instead of asking:
“Why don’t I have more discipline?”
Try asking:
“What does my body need today?”
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your wellness journey is protect tonight’s sleep.
🌙 What’s ONE thing you could do tonight to help you sleep better?

Make Tuna Salad with me! This recipe packs a whopping 50 G protein for half the bowl. (Remember, anytime you can double a recipe-that saves you prep time in the future! ) The key to making this lower calorie and high protein is using plain Greek yogurt for most of the Base. Here I use two small cans of tuna, about a half a cup of plain Greek yogurt, I use 2% because the fat-free taste too bland to me, but use what ya got. 🤗Then I use 1 tablespoon of full fat mayo about a half a tablespoon of mustard, a tablespoon of sweet relish and a splash of pickle juice. I really like these Dave’s sweet heat pickles! By the time I add the hard boiled eggs-we have about 100 grams of protein in this bowl! This makes a perfect snack using bell peppers and celery to scoop it. Or make it a bigger meal and eat half of it for 50g of protein. .

What’s your favorite healthy breakfast? Right now, I am loving this one. Make Breakfast with me: I’m making an Egg, white scramble and oats with berries. I try to double my portions so that I have an extra meal ready to heat up for later. Talk about PROTEIN AND PRODUCE! This meal is gonna power me through my leg workout today… It rings in just over 500 calories with 60 G protein and 9 g of fiber. The healthy fats from the walnuts are the perfect amount. I’m lifting in the Synergy Lab 🥼, my studio at my house. 🤗✨🙌🏼 for the egg white scramble. I used a half a cup of chopped bell peppers, a couple handfuls of spinach, 116 ounce carton of egg whites, salt and pepper. For the oats, I used a third a cup of sprouted old-fashioned oats with about a half a cup of water cooked in the microwave for two minutes then I added cinnamon 1.5 ounces of raspberries and a half an ounce of walnuts. I used the Stevia/monk fruit sweetener today, but I often use just a drizzle of honey.

MOVE MONDAY 💪
You don’t need a perfect workout week.
You need a workout you’ll actually DO.
This week, ask yourself:
👉 What kind of movement fits my capacity right now?
Maybe it’s a heavy strength workout.
Maybe it’s 20 minutes and the Big Six.
Maybe it’s a walk and some mobility.
Consistency isn’t doing the same amount every day.
Consistency is continuing to show up.
Your body doesn’t need punishment. It needs a reason to stay strong.
💬 What movement are you committing to today?

Linda has hit a plateau after 30 lbs of fat loss… So we met up today and switched up her routine. She’s getting some weight training gloves to help her bypass the limitations she has hit due to some gripping issues with her hands. We have stepped away from the treadmill a bit and are exploring the elliptical and stepmill and we are trying out some new exercises … we will keep you posted.

Eat the Rainbow!
Support your local farmers market or head to the store and find three fruits and/or veggies of various colors to eat this week. Eating a variety of plant fibers can help increase gut microbiome diversity and a variety of polyphenols that serve different purposes. Blue and Purple Produce supports brain and health and antiaging.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 5-7 minutes

Servings: 6 Calories: 406 Fat: 20g Carb: 31g Fiber: 4g Protein: 30g

Ingredients
1 lb cooked ground turkey or chicken (season with Italian seasoning, salt and pepper)
1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
1 package of Flat Out Flatbread Pizza Crusts (or your favorite crust)
8 oz package of shredded Mozzarella (Kraft Creamy Melt)
6 Turkey Pepperonis
1/2 cup Onion, diced
1 cup Bell Peppers
Optional: ¼ C pizza sauce or marinara sauce for dipping Or Terri’s Favorite Ranch Dip (see below)

Preheat oven to 425. Lay Flat Outs out on a baking sheet and brush with oil. Bake for 3-5 minutes to crisp the flatbread. Pull from the oven and top each pizza with a small amount of cheese (this keeps the toppings on). Next, evenly divide the ground turkey or chicken amongst the flatbreads. Add pepperonis to each flatbread and then sprinkle with diced onion and bell peppers. Place in the oven for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Terri’s Favorite Ranch Dip
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Makes about 16 servings at 2 T. per serving
Calories: 33 Fat: 2g carb: 3g Fiber: 0 Protein: 1g
1 C. 4% cottage cheese
⅓ C. plain nonfat Greek yogurt
⅓ C. buttermilk
¼ C. Hidden Valley Ranch Dry Seasoning (or one envelope)
2 T. full fat Hellman’s Mayonnaise
Blend well in a blender or Nutribullet. Keeps for 5 days. I don’t recommend subbing any of these items. The fat in the cottage cheese and Hellman’s Mayonnaise give this dip amazing flavor and the texture is extremely creamy.
