I got arrested here.

Yep. This exact 7-Eleven. 😂

Not exactly the opening line you expect from your friendly neighborhood Transformational Life Coach, is it?

But standing here again all these years later got me thinking about something.

We hear a lot about not looking backward.

You can’t change the past.
Leave it behind.
Focus on where you’re going.

And I understand the sentiment.

But I don’t completely agree.

Because sometimes looking backward isn’t about going backward.

Sometimes we need to look back to collect the evidence of how far we’ve come.

Teenage me was arrested at this 7-Eleven for curfew and minor in possession.

She made choices I’m certainly not recommending. 😂

But she was also living a life I understand very differently now than I did then.

And standing in this parking lot decades later, I didn’t feel shame toward her.

I felt compassion.

Because her choices were part of her story.

They weren’t the end of it.

That’s something life has taught me over and over again:

A chapter can explain you without defining you.

Maybe that’s one reason I don’t believe healing requires us to erase our past.

Sometimes we need enough distance from it that we can finally turn around and see it differently.

Not to climb back inside it.

Just long enough to say…

Damn. Look how far I’ve come.

I’m curious:

If you could stand somewhere from an earlier chapter of your life today, what evidence of change would you see?

Recently it hit me why I was always "distracted" and now everything makes sense.

For a long time I told myself I just couldn't focus. So I filled every gap in my day with scrolling, one more task, one more thing to manage, or anything else so I didn't have to sit in the quiet.

It took me a while to see it for what it actually was. Distraction was never a focus problem. It was my body avoiding stillness, because stillness meant feeling everything I'd been too busy to feel.

If any part of this sounds familiar or you call yourself "unfocused" but you're really just avoiding, I want you to hear this: you're not broken. You're patterned. And patterns can move.

If that's resonating, the door's open. Drop a comment or send me a message. I'd love to hear where this shows up for you.

For years, I believed that if I could just control every outcome, every detail, every timing, I'd finally feel safe.

So I gripped tighter. I managed everything myself. I held it all together alone, because somewhere along the way I'd learned that needing help meant I wasn't strong enough to be trusted with my own life.

The tighter I gripped, the more exhausted I became. And what I eventually learned was this: control was never going to make me safe. My real authority came from trusting what I already knew not from forcing every outcome to go my way.

If this sounds like a pattern you're living too, I help people see exactly where they're gripping instead of trusting and what it looks like to let that go. If you're ready to explore that, book a Core Design Reading.

I got shingles at 45. And I barely slowed down.

For years I thought my exhaustion was normal. It was just what happens when you build a life, raise kids, work hard, show up for everyone. I was physically there for people but not present. Waking up on Sundays already dreading Monday. Looking successful on paper and running on empty everywhere else.

The breaking happened anyway.

What I learned wasn't that I needed better time management. I learned my exhaustion wasn't a personal failure. It was my design trying to get my attention. I was living in a way I was never built to sustain.

Now I help people decode that signal before the breaking has to teach them.

If your body is screaming and you're still pushing through, your design is trying to tell you something.

If you're ready to see where you're overriding yourself, Core Design Readings are open. Link in bio.

And if now's not the time, that's okay too. Just wanted you to know the door's there.

If any of these feel familiar, your design is trying to get your attention:

- You're frustrated that nothing you start ever gets completed the way you envisioned it
- You're bitter because you keep giving and no one recognizes what you've sacrificed
- You're angry that you have to push so hard just to get anyone to listen
- You're disappointed because you've done everything "right" and it still doesn't feel like enough

These aren't personality flaws.

They're not-self themes. The specific flavor of exhaustion that shows up when you're living out of alignment with your design.

Frustration, bitterness, anger, disappointment... they're all your body's way of saying: "This isn't how you're built to operate."

I spent years thinking my frustration meant I wasn't disciplined enough. That my bitterness meant I wasn't grateful enough. That if I just tried harder, managed better, pushed through it would shift.

It didn't shift until I stopped overriding my design.

Now I help people see exactly where the override is happening so the frustration (or bitterness, or anger, or disappointment) can finally stop.

If you're exhausted in a life that should feel satisfying, book a Core Design Reading.

I'll show you what your body's been trying to tell you.

It’s wild to think that once I started doing this work, I realized how much of what I called “being easygoing” was actually me abandoning myself to keep everyone else comfortable.

Saying “it’s fine” when it wasn’t.
Over-explaining a simple no.
Ignoring my gut to keep the peace.

None of it looked like a problem. It just looked like being agreeable. But all of it, and so much more, is exactly what led me straight into burnout.

Burnout doesn’t show up all at once. It sneaks in through the small stuff — the stuff that starts to feel normal until it isn’t.

Red flag 🚩 vs Green flag ✅ — how many of these do you recognize in your own week?

🚩 Answering emails at 9pm “just to get ahead”
✅ Emails wait until working hours — always

🚩 Wearing exhaustion like a badge of honor
✅ Rest is treated as productive, not lazy

🚩 Saying yes before you even check in with yourself
✅ Pausing to ask “does this actually feel like a yes?”

🚩 Pushing through the crash instead of listening to it
✅ Noticing the crash and shaking it out before moving on

🚩 A to-do list with 20 things on it
✅ 3 priorities, chosen on purpose

I lived on the red flag side for a long time before I learned how to actually listen to my body instead of override it.

Tell me in the comments…which red flag are you ready to swap for a green one? 👇

I used to think feeling overworked and burnout was just something you push through. Turns out, it’s something you have to actually stop feeding.

Here are 5 things I stopped doing to get out of my burnout era without the guilt:

🍎 I stopped eating at my desk while catching up on emails. My body needs a real break, not another task disguised as one.

📵 I stopped answering texts and calls after I clocked out. Work ending doesn’t mean anything if I never actually log off.

🌀 I stopped pushing through tasks back to back. Now I shake my body out in between as it releases the energy of one task so I have fresh energy for the next. (Sounds simple, works shockingly well.)

✅ I stopped writing never-ending to-do lists. Now I pick just 3 priorities a day and let the rest wait.

🙏 I stopped saying yes automatically. Now I check in with my intuition first (thank you, Human Design, for helping me hear it again) and I check it against my actual values before I answer.

None of this happened overnight. It happened one boundary at a time.

Tell me in the comments — which one of these do you need to start with today? 👇

Something about singing an affirmation while tapping just makes it stick differently. Your body remembers rhythm in a way it doesn’t remember plain words.

Shoutout to whoever wrote the song that never ends. You created a monster. 😅

If you’ve ever caught yourself humming an affirmation or chant days later, that’s not an accident. That’s your nervous system doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Tap along with me next time something gets stuck in your head. Your body will thank you.

What song gets stuck in your head the most? 👇

I had the opportunity last week to share my origin story about how overriding my body and my energy taxed my body over the years and the lessons I've learned along the way, not only in my own story, but of those who I encounter as well.

3 lessons that play on repeat...

1) Life is too damn short to live a life you don't desire.
2) Just because you can, doesn't mean you should
3) Your body isn't the enemy. It is the messenger!

I even gave a bonus tip: Don't get shingles... 0 out of 10 do I recommend

We ended with a quick game of Red Flag signs or Green Flag signs which was eye opening to some and gently exposed our hustle culture.

I am available for hosting workshops. I love to bring interactive games to the learning space :)
