Tired of not enjoying your workout, but still randomly making the effort hoping it will make a difference?
You are not alone in this struggle. Many people feel behind, like they don't belong, or even shame around exercise.
What if I told you it might be the competitive nature of the ego that is getting in the way of enjoying movement activities?
Think about it, running is about distance & time, sports reflect winning & losing, weights are about reps & weight. The whole thing is about comparison, and comparison is the thief of joy.
Yoga is different. The focus is on presence, mindfulness, and letting go of the ego. It is about self-acceptance. Accepting yourself & your practice exactly as you are.
No judgement.
No competition.
When you can adjust your mindset and let go, you can reconnect to yourself & explore movement. Which means releasing feelings of guilt around exercise and feeling good moving in your body. So you can feel like yourself again.

Do you want to practice yoga, but can't seem to find time in your schedule?
I hear this all the time from people in Grays Harbor when talking about yoga.
Listening to their frustration & resignation about their busy lives, the desire to keep up with kids, grandkids, partners, and friends, wanting to feel better in their body and manage stress I knew I needed to share some tips on simplifying adding yoga into any schedule & lifestyle.

Connecting and being present in your body might be the shift you've been craving.
Last night a student of mine shared that her back feels stiff after being in reclined poses, but feels good during them. So we explored a few poses to help bring that connected awareness of how the muscles from the back of the neck all the way down to the calves are connected to eachother.
After each pose I asked her what she felt, experienced & where. It was eye opening for her as she began to see how the back, glutes, & hamstrings affected eachother in different poses.
When you get curious about how your body moves and observe your experience you become present instead of just going through the motions. So you become aware of your thoughts, feelings, & what you need. Which means you'll feel better about yourself & feel empowered to listen to your inner wisdom.
