News Flash:

On Friday, 09 May 2026, the Uganda Aquatics President, Mr. Moses B. MWASE met with a Team from Lokang Sports from China responsible for constructing an 8-lane 25m swimming pool in Uganda and 3 other African countries (Burundi, Rwanda, Lesotho and Cape Verde. The meeting was on the sidelines of the ongoing 17th Africa Aquatics Jr. & Sr. Swimming Championships from 05 - 10 May 2026 in Oran, Algeria.

The project forms a central component of a broader partnership between World Aquatics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), aimed at developing aquatic disciplines and improving water safety across the African continent.

In December 2025, Uganda Aquatics secured a 49-year lease with Seroma Christian High School in Mukono for 5 acres where National Aquatic Centre is planned with the Pools-for-Project forming the first facility to be constructed there.
