To the Tonj South Communities,

I'm overwhelmed with joy as I express my gratitude for embracing my idea, which culminated in an unforgettable celebration of sports and unity! Bongo community's football win and Yar community's dominos triumph were testaments to the power of love and camaraderie among us.

The competition was fierce, but it only showcased our ability to come together and celebrate each other's strengths. I choked back tears of joy as the final whistle blew, and the entire Tonj South community came together in jubilation.

To all who supported me, I thank you. Your encouragement fueled this journey. Special thanks to the executive committee, led by Dr. Kuol Lum Bol, and Vice Chairman Door Deng Makueem – your support was instrumental in making this happen.

To my fellow Tonj South sons and daughters, let's be a shining example for Tonj East and North. Let's continue to unite through sports!

JustIn: Thony Amou Football Team Loses Head Coach Dhur Dut Tong

Dhur Dut Tong has resigned as head coach of the Thony Amou community football team, Tonj South, citing personal and unforeseeable career circumstances.

The resignation takes effect immediately, February 3rd, 2026. Tong expressed gratitude to the team and management for the opportunities and experiences gained during his two-year tenure.

Dear Mr President,
I am writing this letter for the purpose of notifying you of my decision to resign from my position as head coach of Thony Amou community football team, Tonj effective from today 3rd. February due to personal and unforeseeable circumstances regarding my career.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for all the valuable opportunities and wonderful experiences I had with the team and the management. It was truly a privilege working and representing the most talented athletes in the team for the past two years of my tenure and although I regret decision I have made, I look forward to what the future may hold for my career. In like manner, I hope my resignation shall not cause any inconvenience to the team or to the management.

Thank you for your unwavering support and guidance throughout my tenure. I look forward to staying in touch and the entire coaching staff contined success in all future endeavors.

Following a lengthy and constructive consultative meeting involving community representatives, the TSCO leadership, and the TSFA Secretary General, a unanimous resolution was reached to proceed with the long-awaited final of the Tonj South Community Olympics 2025/2026.

While the first edition has faced several challenges, all stakeholders agreed that the final should be played in the spirit of unity, peace, and community cohesion, with identified gaps to be corrected and improved in the second edition.

The general public is therefore warmly invited to turn up in large numbers and witness this historic final encounter:

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Tonj South Communities Olympic Committee regrets to announce that the highly anticipated football match between Thony Community and Bongo Community, initially scheduled to take place on Friday, 31st January 2026, has been postponed.

The decision was made as a result of the sad demise of the esteemed Late Veteran Chief Malang Agor Malang, and the subsequent funeral prayers to be held tomorrow at his residence. The county authorities, led by Hon. John Ayitiak Warwien, Commissioner of Tonj South County, and other officials will be in attendance, prompting a three-day holiday declaration. Consequently, all activities, including those of the Tonj South Local Football Association office, have been suspended.

The match has been rescheduled to Monday, 3rd February 2026. The committee cordially invites the county authority, officials of the Tonj South Local Football Association, and the general public to attend and witness the thrilling final match.

We extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Let us join hands to pay our respects to the late chief, a revered father figure in our community.
