Leer County Central Team and Akoba Central Team have been selected to participate in the South Sudan 9th July independence Celebration Cup Gala, a 5-day knockout tournament.

The competition will begin with the knockout stage on 3rd July 2026, and the grand final will take place on 9th July 2026.

The Leer Central Team has been requested to submit a 20-player squad list, which will be published soon

Leer Football Association (LFA) confirms the withdrawal of Chiengluom Payam from the ongoing Leer County Inter-Payams Peace Tournament (LIPPT).

Despite consultations with elders, chiefs, and leaders from the other 15 payams, the decision remained unchanged and was respected by LFA.

The remaining 15 payams will continue participating in the tournament peacefully and with unity.

LFA also clarified that it has no connection with any government land dispute matters and Chiengluom will receive a full refund since they did not take part in the tournament.
