ActiveSG Football Academy Partners with Standard Chartered for Youth Football Clinic

ActiveSG Football Academy (AFA) recently collaborated with Standard Chartered Singapore to host an engaging football clinic for nearly 100 young, aspiring footballers aged 7 to 13. This event included girls from AFA’s Ang Mo Kio and Tampines all-girls centres, fostering inclusivity in the sport.

The clinic took place at The Cage @ Dempsey on Aug 21, where participants experienced a variety of drills and competed in small-sided games, all under the expert guidance of AFA coaches.

In addition, the event featured a special guest appearance by former professional footballer Steve McManaman, celebrating Standard Chartered’s ongoing partnership with Liverpool Football Club since 2010.

These preschoolers explored movement, coordination and teamwork through fun activities designed just for them, with plenty of encouragement from our coaches and parents along the way.

An unforgettable day of football as our young players gave their all in the knockout rounds, showing teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the competition. 👏⚽

We were honoured to welcome Mr David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State for Education, as our Guest of Honour, alongside Lenard Pattiselanno, Executive Director of Unleash The Roar! (UTR!), and Aleksandar Durić, Principal of ActiveSG Football Academy, who presented the medals and celebrated the achievements of our young footballers.

They also witnessed the SYL Fam’s very own take on the Viking Row… the SYL Row! 🙌
