Just continuous improvement, helping children enjoy playing, and want to keep turning up. That’s what we do.

Winning at school grade may be good but developing a will to win at the highest level is amazing.

We don’t stop.

Last 3 games of the round of 32 and we are still ahead.

Australia – Roast Lamb
Vs
Egypt – Koshary, a vegetarian staple and street food. It combines rice, macaroni, lentils, and chickpeas in a single bowl. A tangy tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, and crispy fried onions top it off.

Sounds like they would go well together

Our pick: Australia on penalties

Argentina – Asados – a big bbq served with chimichurri
Vs
Cabo Verde – Cachupa – a slow cooked stew

Our pick: Argentina – because we are carnivores. A stew is nice but can be difficult to get your protein fix.

Colombia – Bandeja Paisa – looks like a nicer full English breakfast with more meat and some avocado
Vs
Ghana – Jollof Rice – looks and sounds similar to briyani?

Our pick: Colombia by an avocado

3 from 3 with using national food dishes. May have to change tack soon.

Let’s see what happens in today’s games.

Spain – paella, tapas, churros, sangria
Vs
Austria – Wiener Schnitzel, Strudel and some ok beer

A noon kick-off probably gives the advantage to the Spanish. Something like lunch off the side streets of La Rambla. Settle in early, fill your boots. They would probably want to seal the game off before their siesta time.

Austria with it’s nicer dessert together with Siesta time would be looking to take the game deep.

Our pick: Spain

Portugal – Bacalhao (salted cod)
Vs
Croatia - Peka is a traditional Croatian dish and cooking method where meat (like lamb, veal, or chicken) or seafood (such as octopus) is slow-cooked with vegetables and herbs under a heavy, bell-shaped iron dome. The bell is buried in hot coals and embers, creating a rustic, tender, and intensely flavorful one-pot meal.

Apparently there’s 700 ways to make bacalhao including ceviche which is absolutely delicious. 700 ways - enough to bamboozle any defence. It’s going to be pretty warm in Toronto so maybe Peka is not ideal.

Game will be closer than everyone thinks. Modric’s favourite food is fish – maybe he will be having some of that Bacalhao before the match.

Our pick: Portugal

Switzerland – Cheese fondue
Vs
Algeria – Couscous

Will be a close match – both national foods are made for sharing. A bit more skill involved in making Couscous and balancing flavours compared to the fondue.

Our pick: Algeria

Bon appetite!

Our World Cup match winner predictor.

We have had the octopus in the 2010, a sea turtle in 2014, a Japanese octopus in 2018 and otters in 2022.

For the remainder of 2026 World Cup, our predictions are going to be based on food. We know that not everyone is interested in football/soccer/roley-poley theatrics but everyone likes food.

We are going to use the national dish of each country to determine the outcome of each game. Of course it will be flawed as we all have our own biases when it comes to food.

Disclaimer - if you are relying on our picks for betting purposes, please note that our palate and food preferences do not always equate with our analysis of football matches.

So here are our picks for the next few games:

England – fish n chips at lunch; chicken tikka at dinner
Vs
Congo – Moambe Chicken - a rich, flavorful stew made by braising chicken in a thick, velvety sauce. The key ingredient is moambe—an oily, nutty pulp or butter extracted from African oil palm nuts.

Our pick: England

Belgium – mussels and fries, beer, chocolate
Vs
Senegal – Thieboudienne. Translated as “rice with fish” in the Wolof language, it consists of flavorful fish and broken jasmine rice simmered in a rich tomato sauce, served with a bounty of local vegetables like cassava, sweet potato, cabbage, and eggplant

Our pick: Belgium. The Senegalese dish sounds pretty good though, so it’s probably going to extra time and possibly penalties.

USA – burgers, hotdogs, bbq, apple pie
Vs
Bosnia and Herzegovina – Ćevapi, a beloved street food consisting of small, skinless grilled sausages made from minced beef or a blend of beef and lamb. Served with Pita. They also have a grilled platter that looks more than ok.

Our pick – USA

What are your picks and are you basing them on boring pundits or do you have your own method? What’s your method?

Good luck and bon appetite!

Our multisport programme has built itself a reputation as being a fun, safe and challenging programme for young children.

Whilst we have structured lessons plans, we also have an amount of flexibility within our lesson plans so that children always have something new to look forward to, to develop their skills, to improve, to have more fun.

The same applies to our sport specific programmes for tennis, cricket and soccer.

For the holidays, we are bringing our tennis programme to you. The same fun, the same challenge, just at a convenient time and location for you. So book the court, let us know and we will be there.

Red balls, orange balls, green balls, normal balls, mini-nets, ball machines - anything that will help your child have a great time and learn new skills and develop a love for tennis.

Contact us to find out more.
