Most senior leaders are being developed by systems built for middle management. They walk away with a โcertificate of completionโ but not the readiness for the political realities of the next level.

As soon as I uttered the first five words, the room erupted in thunderous applause and loud cheers. I paused, took a bow, and continued.
My *first* in-person leadership keynote in mainland Chinaโa humble reminder of the importance of making deeper connections for deeper longer-term impact.
๐ฅWhen you build and maintain a strong connection, the audience is on your side, because they see you on their side.๐ฅ
The challenge for most speakers is to connect with people they have not met....
๐To design the keynote... and the opening... behind the scenes, I chatted with a few people at the conference, to understand the top-of-mind issues, goals, and challenges to tailor the keynote for the audience and build a stronger rapport.
๐ฅIt takes prior preparation to deliver a killer keynote. But, it's worth it.๐ฅ
Later, on my flight out of the city, someone said "I heard you speak a few years ago in Washington DC. It was a different keynote." I said "Actually, the ideas were the same. But today, I presented differently taking into account the need to connect to a different audience for a fresh, unique, and mesmerizing experience."
๐In the end, when we Speak to Win Hearts & Minds, it becomes easier to connect with almost anyone anywhere in the world - even when they have never met you before.

โNothing is so unbelievable that oratory cannot make it acceptable.โ
While reflecting on the wisdom of Cicero, one of the greatest statesmen, philosophers, and orators of the Roman Empire, I was reminded of the transformative power of oratory.
Cicero kept investing in boosting his oratorical skills because he believed that โnothing is so unbelievable that oratory cannot make it acceptable.โ This profound insight underscores the paramount importance of mastering the art of public speaking. Not everyone sees the necessity of doing so.
As I reflect on my own journey and the journey of great leaders I have met, I notice how oratory opens doors and creates opportunities. This power is hidden in plain sight, leveraged by leaders in power every day, and yet it's missed by the masses.
๐The ability to speak confidently and convincingly is a game-changer.
In our daily lives, the ability to convey ideas compellingly can influence outcomes in countless ways. Whether you are presenting in a boardroom, pitching a new marketing strategy, or rallying support for a political/social cause, your ability to speak effectively can be a game-changer.
๐Public speaking is not about dispensing information confidently; itโs about developing the ability to make deeper connections with your listeners, and inspiring desired actions with urgency. This is essential for leadership.
๐If you seek major goals in life, it's wise to invest your time and resources in developing your oratory skills. Seize every chance to speak in public, get an expert mentor, and continuously level up.
๐ฅThe power of your voice can make the unbelievable acceptable and it will prevent weaker ideas from winning๐ฅ

"With great power comes great responsibility"
With the power of oratory, rhetoric, and the ability to form deep connections... you can sway an audience to believe in your words...
But what matters more is...
Your INTENT...
Speaking with conviction, while deeply caring for your listener's welfare, and following through on your words is what attracts ardent ambassadors for your ideas...
Unfortunately... this power is vastly misused by people with malicious intent who are in positions of massive power and mass influence.
The problem in the world is that many competent do not have confidence... and frankly, many confident people... do not have competence... Still, they can call the shots... Some of them have the power to dominate the narrative, spread weaker ideas, and shape our world.
Therefore, it's important to enable more competent people with the right intent (having the heart in the right place) to become more confident, eloquent, and influential.
Now is the time to provide this power to the right people whose voice needs to be unlocked, amplified, and projected for the betterment of the whole.
I derive my passion from my desire to help competent people become more confident, eloquent, and influential so that they can lead themselves and rally others to achieve worthy goals in less time. I believe that by enabling competent people to lead critical missions successfully we can make the world a better place, and stop weaker ideas from winning!
๐In the end, we are here to do what we are born to do before our time's up.

โ ๏ธTopics to Avoid: during media interviewsโ ๏ธ
Right before my interview with Dubai Eye, the #1 channel in UAE, I was called aside to be briefed about the 3 topics I should not talk about during the LIVE broadcast across nations.
Since then, I have reminded myself to specifically ask producers about the brief.
๐One line of wisdom I learned from media expert Rasheed is this:
"During media interviews, it's important to know what not to say"
๐Many times, reporters and anchors try to trick you into talking about stuff that can get you in a hot soup later.
๐Here are your keys to success
(1) Be Present - physically and mentally
(2) Listen and understand the question and context before you respond
(3) Take your time to respond
(4) Answer in a structured manner that addresses the questions and delivers your unique perspectives
(5) Record your interview (a lesson I learned from Michael Jackson) as evidence of what you said ;-) The internet has a long memory. What you say can be used against you.
(6) Be confident and competent to speak without notes
(7) Be proficient in spotting loaded questions and leading questions so that you can tackle those effectively.
๐ The good news is, all these are learnable skills.
๐ We need more people to speak up about what they believe in to avoid weaker ideas from becoming the dominant narrative.
