Having reached the pinnacle of Asian professional golf and spending a lifetime enmeshed in the sport both as a player and successful businessman, he now initiates his long planned debut into a golf desig

n business. After significant design roles on several projects he now takes his passion to the level of full-fledged design firm. From his Base in Singapore, Kyi Hla has commissioned the services of Sam Sakocius and his company Qualitas Project Control to assemble and administer his expert technical support team Sam is renowned as a global expert in all aspects of golf development, specializing in technical aspects of golf functionality and also lives full time in Southeast Asia. He is responsible for design feasibility, efficiency, and technical soundness of plan production and implementation. A Kyi Hla Han designed project will generate immediate interest and respect anywhere in SE Asia. The fact that he was recently named by Reuters as the seventh most influential person in Asian Sports supports the potency of his brand. Beyond the power of his signature status, his sensitive approach and incomparable international experience as a player is what sets his design philosophy apart. In addition to all important strategy and routing, Kyi Hla Han believes golf should be visually interesting, even breath taking whenever possible. He wants the golfer to enjoy the beauty of his course as well as the surrounding geography. He therefore carefully considers not only how his course will play, but how it will enhance the golfer’s sense of tranquillity through thoughtful vistas and alcoves of peaceful landscapes interwoven into his design fabric. A native of Myanmar the spirituality ingrained by his culture permeates his design philosophy to produce truly unique golfing experiences. Kyi Hla has spent his career studying what works and doesn’t work in a golf design. As a perennial champion, his understanding of great golf is rock solid. As the Executive Chairman of the Asian Tour, his understanding of all aspects of the financial side of golf goes hand in hand with his design philosophy. His projects are not only fascinating, they are sustainable.From initial planning and feasibility, through design, construction, and opening; Kyi Hla Han Golf delivers international excellence with an Asian perspective. Kyi Hla Han (born 13 February 1961) is a former professional golfer from Myanmar and the current executive chairman of the Asian Tour. Kyi Hla is the only Asian Signature Designer currently active in Asia. He recorded his first professional win at the 1983 Malaysian PGA Championship. He played on the Asian Tour from its debut season in 1995 until 2004. In 1999 he was the top money winner on the tour and that year he collected his only win in an official money Asian Tour tournament at the Volvo China Open. As of 2006 he was appointed Chairman of the Asian Tour, upon the tour having been reconstituted in 2004 after having been taken over by the players themselves. Kyi is given credit for having overseen the rapid growth of the Asian Tour. Professional wins:

The Han Family are proud to announce the Kyi Hla Han Award as selected by Asian Tour players. This Players Player Award was won by Kyi Hla in 1999, and was very important to Kyi Hla, as he always did his best for the professional golf community in Asia.

Congratulations to Ervin Chang as he starts 2024 on the Asian Tour! Ervin was the first recipient of the Kyi Hla Han Future Champions Award in 2023 which enabled him to finish 10th in the Asian Development Tour Order, and a coveted spot on the Asian Tour.
The Han Family wishes Ervin all the best for the coming year and look forward to following his future success!

Remembering Kyi Hla Han - Always Loved & Never Forgotten ♥️

It's been a year since we lost our beloved Husband and Father, Kyi Hla on Feb 19, 2022. In many ways, he has never left as his spirit continues to be with us and guide us in the principles with which he embraced life. He is always loved and will never be forgotten - every day we remember his cheerful demeanour, relaxed nature and how much he loved his family, music and golf! ♥️

Always a champion, Kyi Hla inspired excellence, and it is with pride that the Han Family have partnered with the Asian Tour for the Kyi Hla Han Future Champions Award, a mission-driven annual initiative designed to support a rookie with extreme promise through a financial scholarship and entree into select Asian Tour events. This programme seeks to further Kyi Hla's passion of developing professional golf in Asia, and provide opportunity to those most promising young performers.

The inaugural winner this year was Malaysian Golfer Ervin Chang, who was chosen based on his excellent amateur record and potential to be a future champion. He has already shown proof of his potential through his strong result at the US$5 million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers event (check out the results on asiantour.com) and we look forward to future progress as Kyi Hla would have no doubt done!
