Awesome pattern sticks courtesy of the inimitable , extremely comfortable t-shirt (this pink came out as a fantastic colour) from and gloves are the Warrior Burn 13” in Red (for the colour blind out there), recommended by Mandala Sensei E. When I first met LG Valerie Drckxsns in Bohol and I saw pictures of some of the, at the time, new Sinawali designs, I was immediately drawn to the Seigaiha pattern - and not just because I’m a massive otaku. I spent my childhood around the sea (“The line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me...”- I’m also a massive fan of the film Moana lol), and thus anything that reminds me of the ocean immediately resonates with me. And it was LG Valerie who taught me that the seigaiha isn’t just found in Japanese culture but also is found, coincidentally, in other cultures around the world
And so two years after our first discussion, I finally have this to carry my sticks and rep Sinawali when I train 😀

July 20th and 21st was a thoroughly fulfilling and exhausting weekend spent in Petaling Jaya with faces familiar and new.
My only regret was not being able to stay for LG Valerie Drckxsns class on the 22nd, and for that I will forever be envious of those who could 😛 (But of course, I always enjoy our martial art nerds geek outs!)
All in all, it was a completely wonderful seminar with Tuhon Kit - from the organisation to the ex*****on, so major props to Arnis Malaysia and all involved.
One of my favourite things about is that every time I’ve attended any sort of class with any of the excellent instructors I learn new things and learn to see familiar things in new ways. It’s a process of almost consistently getting my mind blown. I wouldn’t trade any of those experiences for the world
All the photos I’m in were stolen off of John Ng 😛 (Thanks!!)
