Three games into our new IA League campaign, and the Redbacks are up and running with 2 wins from 3.

We started with a thriller against Bouncers — chasing down 198 to win by 2 wickets. Then came a tough night against Knights United, where we were handed a heavy defeat. But this team responded the way we wanted to — putting 231/6 on the board against Karunadu and defending it to bounce back with a 14-run win. 💪

Last season, we played some really good cricket but fell just short of the playoffs. That disappointment has stayed with us.

This year, the goal is simple: go one step further. 🎯

There will be wins. There will be setbacks. But there’s a long season ahead, and this group is hungry, motivated and ready for the fight.

Team Redbacks brought their A-game this weekend. Compared to our first outing back in 2017 (zero wins), this time we walked away with 2 wins from 4 games — and missed the quarterfinals by just one six, bat or ball. So close!

We started strong, let the pressure creep in for a bit, then fought back hard. That’s the story of this tournament — great cricket, great competition, and plenty of lessons learned.

We were searching for that breakthrough. Searching for someone to change the game. Then Raja Mani took the ball… and the rest was pure magic.

5 wickets. 26 runs. One unforgettable spell.

Every wicket shifted the momentum. Every over tightened the grip. By the time he was done, the match had swung completely in Redbacks’ favour.

Cricket has a funny way of testing you. Sometimes you win comfortably, sometimes you defend the impossible, and sometimes you dig deep to chase under pressure.

This three-match streak had a bit of everything.

🏏 Match 1: A complete team performance with contributions throughout the batting order, before Raajesh Kotteeswaran Bhaiya’s explosive 36 off 14 provided the perfect finish. The bowlers then combined brilliantly to defend the total and secure a 16-run victory.

🏏 Match 2: Asked to defend just 109, the boys responded with grit against the toughest opponents in the league. Saravanan Subbiah’s 24 and Matang Surti’s quickfire 19(11) gave us something to fight with before Dushyanth Madhavan’s magical 4/12 dismantled the opposition in a memorable 37-run win.

🏏 Match 3: Raja Mani’s outstanding 5/26 laid the platform, while Bala and Ajay Krishna rebuilt after an early collapse. When the pressure peaked, Raj calmly finished the chase as we held our nerve to win by 2 wickets.

Three matches. Three different heroes. One common theme—everyone stepped up when it mattered. That’s what team cricket is all about. On to the next. ❤️🖤🏏
