Why Are We Here? 09/04/2022

This pandemic has caused many to look deeper into the purpose, the why and the meaning of their roles and career.

At the same time, company can take this opportunity to communicate their mission, their value and even their vision to their employees to reinforce their purpose in the organization. But the most important of all, is getting the alignment across all levels and departments, to increase collaboration and innovation inorder to achieve the common mission.

"As much as you may try to motivate employees with slogans or extrinsic rewards, you won’t achieve excellence if your people don’t know why they are coming to work every day at your firm. The clearer you can be about what value your company creates and for whom, the greater your ability to inspire your workers. And the more you align the right talent, operating model, and financial resources to support your purpose, the better able employees will be to deliver on it.

Purpose is the key to motivation—and motivated employees are the key to realizing your purpose. Get this symbiotic relationship right, and your organization will thrive."

Why Are We Here? If you want employees who are more engaged and productive, give them a purpose—one concretely tied to your customers and your strategy.

5 Questions Every Manager Needs to Ask Their Direct Reports 28/01/2022

"In a recent Gallup study, more than half of employees surveyed said that no one — including their manager — had talked to them about how they were feeling in their role in their last three months before they quit. And 52% of exiting employees stressed that their manager or organization could have done something to prevent them from leaving their job"

Do we see ourselves as a manager or do we see ourselves as a coach who helps our employees to grow and develop? As the Great resignation wave swept across the nations, what can we do as leaders to prevent and avoid high turnover in our organization?

One very simple step will be to have ongoing conversation instead of annual review, focus on their growth, their purpose and even on their life. Share with me what are some of the questions that you would ask or hope your manager will ask you!

Good Leadership Is About Asking Good Questions 21/01/2022

"leaders assume that people look to them for answers — bold assertions that build people’s confidence in their competence. But in reality, that kind of approach erodes trust, especially at a time when so much is manifestly uncertain. You think you have the answers to all important questions? That suggests that you are either clueless — you have no idea how rapidly the world is changing — or that you are lying. In either case, you won’t find that trust that you’ve been looking for."

A Quote from Albert Einstein: I have no special talents; I am only passionately curious.

In this fast-changing world, do we still think we have all the answers? or should we have a curious and inquisitive mind to ask the right questions and cultivate a learning and growth culture within our organization.

Why Coaching Matters: How Leaders Can Become Better Coaches And Build Stronger Teams 06/03/2021

An excellent article which illustrates how coaching done in the right way will inspire and empower your employee to think out of the box, do more and create a safe environment for innovative ideas to come through. Knowing the difference between managing and coaching will definitely help to ensure the right approach is being deployed in a coaching session.

"Directing employees is a necessary part of the chain of command. Breaking that chain doesn’t create anarchy or disaster. It creates freedom. Greater freedom for the leader, and greater empowerment for the employee, when coaching is done correctly. Motivation – the desire to do anything – only comes from one place. Inside. To really change behavior and inspire new efficiency, focus your attention on where that drive really comes from – and you will be coaching yourself (and your team) to greater results."
