Inclusive Personalised Physical Development Programs for children and young adults.

Episode 125. This one will change how you think about martial arts. πŸ₯‹πŸ§

Most parents see martial arts as a physical activity. Our founder explains why it is one of the most powerful cognitive interventions available for neurodivergent children and young adults.

In this episode, he breaks down how martial arts training directly develops:

βœ… Memory and strategic thinking
βœ… Sustained attention and focus
βœ… Fear and frustration management
βœ… The cognitive system as a whole through obstacle-based exercises

This is not opinion. It is neuroscience, and it is exactly what drives every session at Special Inclusion.

He could not hold a pen. Now he is writing words!

This is what consistent, targeted fine motor training looks like when it is built around your child and not a generic program.

Every grip exercise. Every precision drill. Every session that felt small in the moment was quietly building the hand strength, finger control, and neural connections that made this possible.

This is not just handwriting. This is independence. And it started with one assessment.

Most training programs for children with special needs focus on what the body can do. At Special Inclusion we focus on how the body does it.

Proper breathing. Structural alignment. Core control under pressure. Shoulder stability that supports every movement above it.

Without these foundations, physical effort is inefficient. Posture collapses under demand. The body fatigues faster than it should. And daily tasks that should feel manageable continue to feel exhausting.
These exercises, single leg raises, Russian twists, deltoid lifts, skipping rope, and battle rope waves, are building those foundations directly. Session by session. Rep by rep.

The earlier this kind of training begins the easier everything else becomes.

First obstacle. First jump. First win. πŸ†

A tyre on the floor looks simple. But for a child with special needs working on balance and coordination, every jump is training the brain and body to communicate, adjust, and land with control.

This is where physical development begins at Special Inclusion. With a challenge that feels fun, builds confidence, and lays the foundation for everything that comes next.

βœ… Balance and postural stability
βœ… Body awareness and coordination
βœ… Confidence through achievable challenge

Every jump forward is a step forward.

Episode 123. The questions we get asked most. Finally answered.

Where are we located? What programs do we offer? Who are they for? And what can parents actually expect to see change in their child?

Our founder covers all of it in this episode, walking through the most frequently asked questions about our centre location and breaking down the real benefits of our physical and cognitive development programs for children and young adults with special needs.
If you have been curious about Special Inclusion but were not sure where to start, this is the video to watch before reaching out.

Because understanding what we do and how we do it is the first step toward knowing whether this is the right fit for your child.

One tennis ball. Two teenagers. And a surprisingly effective self-defence lesson. 🎾πŸ₯‹

Here is what is actually happening in this drill.

Each student holds a tennis ball pressed to their cheek with one hand. If the ball drops, the hand was not where it should be. It is a simple, immediate feedback system that builds one of the most important habits in Muay Thai boxing, keeping the hands up to protect the face, without any of the pressure or intimidation that traditional drilling can create.

For teenagers with special needs, learning self-defence through activities that feel engaging rather than clinical changes everything. The skill builds. The confidence builds. And the body learns through play rather than repetition alone.

βœ… Face protection habit built naturally
βœ… Body awareness and spatial control
βœ… Focus and bilateral coordination
βœ… Confidence through purposeful challenge

Smart training. Real results.

Our founder breaks down the latest research on martial arts training for children and young adults with ADHD and autism. And what the studies are finding is genuinely compelling.

A 2025 systematic review of eleven studies found measurable improvements in sustained attention, working memory, and impulse control in individuals with ADHD who participated in martial arts training across judo, karate, and taekwondo.

A 2019 randomised controlled trial of children on the autism spectrum found that a thirteen-week martial arts program produced significant improvements in emotional and behavioural regulation, working memory, and cognitive flexibility.

And critically, these gains did not come from suppressing or masking who these children are. They came from giving them practical tools to manage daily demands while remaining completely themselves.

This is the science behind what we do at Special Inclusion every single day.

"Thank you for being that blessing." πŸ’š

Those words from one of our parents this week reminded us exactly why we show up every single day.

When asked to list his blessings and circle the most important one, her son chose his coach. Not because of the drills or the techniques or the program structure. But because, in his own words, his coach plays games with him, interacts with him, and talks nicely to him.

That is the foundation of everything we do at Special Inclusion. Because before a child can develop, they need to feel safe. Before they can grow, they need to feel valued. And before they can trust the process, they need to trust the person.
We are so grateful for messages like this. πŸ’šπŸ†

Our founder breaks it all down. 🧠

If you have ever wondered what exactly happens inside a Special Inclusion session, why we combine physical and cognitive development together, what our goals actually are for each student, and how our program is different from a regular therapy or fitness class, this is the video for you.

Because the two are not separate. The body and the brain develop together. And when you train them together with a purposeful, personalised program, the outcomes are significantly more powerful than addressing either one alone.

Watch the full episode for a clear picture of how we work, what we are building, and why it matters for your child. πŸ’š
