There is no single route into engineering. Antonia Dåderman shares how she moved from ambitions in musical theater to a career shaped by technology, business and leadership.

She did not grow up taking machines apart. What pulled her in was curiosity. How technology can be applied and improve the way people live and work.

Better products do not happen in isolation. They are shaped by people asking what could work better, what customers need most and how ideas can be tested and improved over time.
In the latest Meet Sandvik podcast, Annika Kaar talks about why R&D is so important to our ability to create customer value. That can mean faster drilling. Fewer interruptions. Higher productivity.

It is where small improvements, careful experimentation and specialist knowledge can become meaningful value for customers.

What does it mean to feel like you can be yourself at work?
For many people, it takes safety, fairness and a culture that means it, every single day.

That's what Sandvik True Color is built on. LGBTQIA+ inclusion and fairness woven the decisions we make. This Pride, our focus is LGBTQIA+ inclusion and fairness in everyday working life. Because inclusion lives in the small moments and the systems we build together.

We also have a global LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group — a community where people share stories, find support and connect across Sandvik, wherever they are in the world.

What does AI mean for Sandvik?

It is a shift in how people learn, make decisions and apply technology to real work — from engineering and manufacturing to customer needs and daily operations.

In this interview, Sofia Sirvell explains why AI only becomes valuable when people know how to use it well: where it fits, where it creates value and how it can support the complexity of industrial work.

Because the future of AI in industry will be shaped by people who understand both the possibilities of the technology and the realities of the work it is meant to support.
