The Solomon Islands Football Federation has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to local football fans for their outstanding support shown to the national men’s team during the FIFA Series 2026 held in Indonesia.

In a statement, SIFF acknowledged the positivity and encouragement shared by supporters, particularly across social media platforms, despite the team facing challenging results—suffering a 10-2 defeat to Bulgaria and a 4-2 loss to Saint Kitts and Nevis.

“Thank you for standing with us and for the incredible positivity you’ve shared, even in difficult moments. Your unwavering support means more than words can express,” the federation stated.

SIFF emphasized that while the score-lines were not in their favor, the experience gained from competing at such a level remains invaluable.

Facing a higher-ranked European opponent—ranked 85th globally—provided a rare opportunity for the Solomon Islands, currently ranked 153rd, to test themselves against elite competition.

The federation added that such exposure is critical for development, allowing players to grow, adapt, and build towards a stronger future on the international stage.

“This was more than just a match. It was a learning experience that will shape the team moving forward,” SIFF concluded.

Meanwhile, as understood, despite the national team went down with 2 straight defeats in the FIFA Series 2026, the team found some positive from the friendly.
