Grove Ju-Jitsu

Last night was a special one at Grove Jiu-Jitsu.
Three of our senior coaches have been training over 40 years each 😲, so we've choked a lot of people over the years...
And few were more memorable than Pascal 'P***y' Benson, a friend and training partner for over two decades. He was 'old school' : training 5 times a week before Jiu-Jitsu was cool, and he loved a good scrap 😉

Pascal sadly passed away last year after a long and well lived life, but not before he got to see his many grandkids enter this world.

Last night, two of them took their first steps in their grandfather's shoes and earned their white belts after months of dedicated practice

We never mention their names on social media for safeguarding reasons, but we all know who they are!

Well done lads, we're all very proud of you, and, from the performances last night, Grandpa is watching over you for sure 👊

Our 🥋club would not exist without all our volunteer coaches...simple fact.
We operate a 'not for profit' club, investing all our fees and fundraising for the benefit of all members: no club coach is paid for any class...and never has been.

But twice a year, we recognise and celebrate the dedication and talent of our entire team with a thank you meal at a local restaurant 🎉🎊🥘🍻

Without these people, we'd all be much poorer as a club family in talent, safety and success : thanks to every single coach for every single minute they volunteer for our benefit 👊💪
