دروبي. in arabic, drouby means path. the way one walks. each movement, a drouby. each step, a return into the body.

everything i carried, the desert took back. the body remembers what the mind forgets.

i lost a part of myself. before that i lost other things. on paper everything was working.

inside i was quietly shutting down. i tried harder. i tried less. i tried a clean version of harder. nothing
moved. at some point i stopped trying to fix myself and started listening instead.

i learned to pray. i learned to sit in a room long enough to hear what my body had been saying for years. i started moving in a way that did not punish me. slow. warm. repetitive. feminine. i let the work be soft and i let it be daily. that is when my body came back. the bleed first. then the rest of me.

the years of teaching, watching, refining, sensing showed me what technique alone never could. that the body is emotional architecture. that tension is biography. that softness needs safety before it arrives.

what came out of those years was not choreography. it was presence. the institute is not a studio. it is the room that came out of all of it.

this is where the work began. this is where the institute was born.
