🌍 From Values to Action: SAFE COMBAT Inspires the Global Judo Community
Building safe, strong and inclusive sport starts with turning values into action.

SAFE COMBAT was proud to contribute to the European Judo Union's international virtual conference, "From Values to Action – Shaping the Future of Safe, Strong & Inclusive Judo", bringing together the global judo community to exchange ideas and good practices on safeguarding, inclusion, mental health, gender equality and accessibility.

During the conference, the SAFE COMBAT project was presented by Veronika Jakl, Prof. Nemanja Stankovic, Alla Hösl and Juliane Robra, showcasing the SAFE COMBAT Label and demonstrating how clubs and federations can take practical steps towards creating safer sporting environments.

The response was outstanding:
🥋 126 registrations
🌍 39 countries represented, including participants from Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, North America and South America.

One message stood out above all others:
💬 "SAFE COMBAT certification should become mandatory for federations."

The SAFE COMBAT Label was repeatedly recognised as one of the conference's most valuable outcomes, reflecting the growing commitment of clubs and federations to embed safeguarding into the heart of combat sports.

This growing momentum confirms a simple truth: safeguarding is no longer an option—it is becoming a hallmark of quality sport.

Together, we continue building a future where safety, wellbeing and performance go hand in hand. 🛡️🤝

🥋🛡️ Successful SAFE COMBAT Multiplier Sport Event hosted by the Karate Federation of North Macedonia

On 28 June 2026, the Karate Federation of North Macedonia successfully hosted a SAFE COMBAT Multiplier Sport Event in Skopje, bringing together coaches, referees, athletes and club representatives to strengthen safeguarding in combat sports.

Participants explored the latest SAFE COMBAT resources, including the Safeguarding Code, the MOOC and the newly launched SAFE COMBAT Label, while learning how clubs can implement safeguarding standards and begin the certification process.

🤝 The event encouraged knowledge sharing, practical discussions and a shared commitment to creating safer, more inclusive and more responsible environments in combat sports.

On 13 June 2026, WAKO Europe successfully hosted a SAFE COMBAT Multiplier Sport Event, bringing together coaches and stakeholders committed to strengthening safeguarding, safety and well-being in combat sports.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to present the SAFE COMBAT project and its resources, while encouraging dialogue on safeguarding, athlete welfare, injury prevention and positive sporting cultures.

🥊 Coaches from across Europe exchanged experiences and explored practical approaches to creating safer, more inclusive and more responsible environments for all participants.
