Have you ever wondered who would speak for you if you couldn’t speak for yourself?

Most of us have wishes about how we would like to be cared for if we became seriously ill or could no longer make decisions ourselves. But very few of us know how to record these wishes.

In this themed session, we’ll explore Advance Directives, also known as Living Wills (English), Patientenverfügung (German) and Diretiva Antecipada de Vontade DAV / Testamento Vital (Portuguese).

Together with Tanja Himming, Clinical Lead & Palliative Care Nurse at Associação Madrugada , we’ll learn about Advance Directives, why they matter, and how to complete them. There will be time for Q&A and example official forms will be available.

Whether you’re thinking about supporting ageing parents, your own future or simply want to be informed, this meeting is open for all people, all stages of life.

Know that this isn’t about making legal arrangements or writing a will. It’s about expressing your wishes for (future) medical care, choosing who can speak on your behalf, and creating clarity for yourself and those you love.

🗓 Sunday, August 23th
🕙 10:00–12:00 am
📍 In Harmony Centre, Lagos
💛 Sliding Scale (€10,- €25,-)

This meeting is part of our themed series called ‘What is a Good Death?’, where we explore different aspects of death, dying and living with openness, curiosity and care.

We often avoid this question, but it touches all of us: What is a good death?

This meeting invites an open and honest exploration of death, dying and grief - with the goal of creating clarity and peace of mind around the end of your life.

Preparing for your death is a gift to your loved ones.

There is nothing we can do about our inevitable mortality but through contemplation and planning we can ensure that our lives end with peace of mind for ourselves and those we leave behind.

A space for reflection, conversation and shared humanity.

🗓 Sunday, May 3🕒 10:00–11:30📍 Harmony Centre, Lagos💫 Sliding scale €10–€25

Open to anyone who feels curious or touched by this topic, at any stage of life.

What can we learn from someone who has faced death many times?

✨ In this special edition, we not only connect and discover more about our own relationship with death. We also meet Loretta (91) to listen, ask, discuss and explore what it means to make peace with dying.
She faced death many times and will share openly about her journey, her fears, her insights and how she relates to dying today.

Join us for this honest, open and intimate conversation.

🌿New Date - Registration Open

Grief doesn’t need fixing, and often it doesn’t need professional help either.
But loss can (quietly) shake the ground beneath our daily lives. And every now and then, it helps to have a place where what we carry can be felt and shared.

That’s why we’re offering Giving Space to Grief. A 4hr gathering to slow down and breathe.

Through reflection, embodied practice, voice, ritual and rest, grief is met with care, inviting lightness and renewal.

This workshop is facilitated by Elisabeth (Liz) Tiesinga and Diana Jost, bringing together experience in grief education, mindfulness, embodied practices and voice expression.

Giving Space to Grief

Maybe you’ve simply continued on.
Living, caring, carrying.
Because life keeps moving.

And maybe, underneath it all,
there’s a knowing that it’s time to pause.
To breathe.
To make space.

This 4-hour gathering offers a gentle place to slow down and make space for grief, in the body, the heart and the mind.

Through reflection, embodied practice, voice, ritual and rest, grief is met with care, inviting lightness and renewal.

This edition is facilitated by: Elisabeth Tiesinga: Cert. Grief Educator, Mindfulness Trainer & Birth Doula and co-host Diana Jost, who brings her decades of experience in embodied practices and voice expression.

Together we allow the body to soften, the breath to deepen, and the heart to feel more open.

A shared space where grief doesn’t have to be carried alone.

15/11/2025

On Sunday, November 23, we gather again for the 7th edition of our grief workshop - Making Space for Grief.

I am quietly proud of how this space keeps evolving. Each time it grows with the people who join, the stories shared, the different shapes grief takes, and all that I continue to learn through this work.

Last time we filled the room, and something became very clear: spaciousness matters. Time to slow down, breathe, reflect, share, and experience the practices fully. So this month we will keep an even calmer rhythm, extending the workshop with 1 extra hour, to be with more room for presence and integration.

I will also be working more with co-facilitators in these sessions, and I’m happy to welcome Danielle Riegel again. She is a professional harpist and Qi Gong teacher. Her gentle sound and sharing brought a softening to the group that many spoke about afterwards.

Something that touched me last time was how people felt comfort in seeing that grief takes so many forms. The loss of a partner, a parent, a relationship, a pet, a sense of identity, or the living loss of a loved one slowly disappearing into Alzheimer’s.

Grief is universal, yet so uniquely ours. And there is healing simply in being together.

✨What you can expect:
Guided Griefwork & Mindfulness
Reflection & Sharing
Qi Gong
Ritual & Harp & Sound Journey
