🚫 What Is Hate Speech & Why It Matters
Hate speech is more than just hurtful language— it’s a tool that spreads fear, division, and discrimination.
It targets people because of who they are:
🧩 their race
🧩 their religion
🧩 their identity
🧩 or their abilities
And when left unchecked, it leads to real harm:
Bullying, exclusion, isolation—and in some cases, even violence.
In sport, hate speech breaks down team spirit and creates unsafe environments where athletes no longer feel like they belong.
But sport should be a space where everyone feels included, respected, and seen.
🧠 Words matter.
