💚 Green kits in football have always felt a little different.

In Ancient Rome, green was considered a women’s colour. In the Middle Ages, it symbolised youth and spring, but people also connected it with witches (!), forests and mysterious things they could not explain.

Even today psychologists call green the most balanced colour for the human nervous system. Calm, alive and somehow impossible to ignore.

Maybe that is why green clubs in football usually have strong identities too. Local pride, workers’ clubs, forest clubs, rebels, community teams. Clubs that never wanted to look exactly like everyone else.

This week we noticed some beautiful shades of green in women’s football:

💙 Blue kits in women’s football.
For a long time, many ancient cultures did not even have a proper word for blue. The sea was described as dark, grey or even wine coloured, but rarely blue.
Today, blue is officially considered the world’s most popular colour. Calm, timeless and trusted almost everywhere.
Maybe that is why football keeps returning to it again and again. And women’s football especially seems to love blue. Sky blue, navy blue, royal blue. Same colour, completely different identities.
This week we noticed a few beautiful examples and they truly deserve your attention! :

We don’t focus on the results and always support the girls playing football in any situation. But right now, we’re celebrating a wonderful away win and the fact that the young players are integrating so well into the first team, bringing more energy and even influencing the final result.

Miasto i Gmina Myślenice

Few more words about pink as a colour in women’s football.

We expected to see it everywhere.
Instead, it appears only occasionally.

What we actually found: local clubs using pink for special matches, youth teams experimenting with it, and mostly one-off kits rather than true club identity.
So pink is used, but rarely owned. Strange, but true.

We’d like to introduce a one more lovely Polish grassroots club in pink: Vulcan Wólka Mlądzka.
Go take a look, give them some support, and discover another team worth noticing.
