Material & Weave
Jacket: Typically 100% Cotton. Common weaves include:
Single Weave: Lightweight and cool, but less durable.
Pearl Weave: The industry standard; durable, lightweight, and resists shrinking.
Gold/Double Weave: Heavy, thick, and very difficult for opponents to grip.
Pants: Usually made of Ripstop (polyester/cotton blend) for lightness and tear resistance, or Cotton Twill/Canvas for a traditional, softer feel.
Weight (GSM)
Jacket: Ranges from 350 GSM (ultralight/competition) to 550+ GSM (heavyweight/training).
Pants: Typically 8oz to 12oz.
Key Construction Specs
Reinforcements: Triple-stitching on all stress points (underarms, side slits, and crotch).
Collar: Firm EVA foam-filled lapel. This helps the Gi dry faster and makes it harder for opponents to maintain cross-collar grips.
Knees: Double-layered padding or reinforced stitching from the mid-thigh to the shin.
Drawstrings: Stays tied better with a stretchy rope drawstring and a multi-loop system rather than flat cotton twill.
Fit & IBJJF Compliance
Tapered Fit: Unlike Judo Gis, BJJ Gis are "athletic cut" to minimize excess fabric for an opponent to grab.
Sleeve Length: When arms are extended, the sleeve must reach no further than 5cm from the wrist.
Colors: White, Royal Blue, Black, Navy and also Custom available.

ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT BJJ GI

The Ultra-Light is a lightweight bjj gi and is available in both men's & women's sizes. This kimono is the lightest jiu-jitsu gi available that is also IBJJF approved for competition. Because of it's light weight, it's a great travel gi and for those training in warm weather.
