Get ready for Azadi Cup Lahore 2026 – FIDE Rated Chess Championship at Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Main Tarogil Campus, Raiwind Road, Lahore. The U-08, U-12, U-16, and U-20 categories will be held on Saturday, 29 August 2026, while the Open Category will take place on Sunday, 30 August 2026. The tournament will run from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM, with a 10+05 time control and 7 rounds. Players can compete for PKR 100,000+ in cash prizes, along with trophies and medals for winners. The prize-distribution ceremony of the 2nd Naseem Ijaz Memorial Chess Tournament 2026 was held on 18 July 2026 at NIM College of Health Sciences, Lahore. Major prizes, including an electric scooter, a touchscreen mobile phone and PKR 30,000 in cash, were distributed among the winners. In the Open Category, Muhammad Hussain secured first position and Muhammad Abdullah Randhawa finished second. In the Under-18 Category, Yasher Rizwan secured first position and Daniyaal Lukhesar finished second. Huzaifa Hassan Khan received the Best Under-12 Boy award, while Enaya Habib received the Best Under-12 Girl award. Congratulations to all the winners for their excellent performances and well-deserved achievements.

2nd Naseem Ijaz Memorial Chess Tournament 2026

The tournament was held on 18 July 2026 at NIM College of Health Sciences, Zarrar Shaheed Road, Lahore. It was organized by Lahore Chess Club (LCC) in collaboration with NIMCHS.

A total of 89 players competed in the Open and Under-18 categories. The tournament was played over seven rounds under the Swiss system, with a rapid time control of 10 minutes plus a 5-second increment.

These photographs capture the players during their games—calculating moves, managing their time and competing with full concentration. Every round provided an opportunity to learn, improve and gain valuable tournament experience.

The tournament was conducted by Tournament Director and Chief Arbiter Muhammad Saad, Deputy Chief Arbiter Noor Fatima Rashid and Arbiter Muhammad Safdar Javed.

Congratulations to all the prize winners and participants. Thank you to the organizers, officials, parents and supporters who helped make the event successful and paid a fitting tribute to the memory of Naseem Ijaz.

A Unique Open-Air Chess Experience Under the Stars! ♟️🌙

The Lahore Mastermind Chess Cup 2026 was successfully held during the night of 2–3 May 2026 at Bahria Food Street, Grand Mosque, Bahria Town, Lahore. The unique open-air setting provided an unforgettable atmosphere, allowing players to compete under the night sky in a truly exceptional chess experience.

The tournament welcomed 153 players from across Pakistan in three categories: Under 12, Under 18, and Open. Throughout the event, participants demonstrated outstanding strategic thinking, determination, and sportsmanship, making the competition a great success.

We express our sincere gratitude to Bahria Food Street for generously providing such a wonderful venue and supporting the promotion of chess. Their hospitality and cooperation were instrumental in making this event possible.
