Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, is getting a fresh new look with the installation of new chairs, just in time for the final round. This renovation is part of the stadium's upgrade for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy ,

The stadium, with a capacity of 27,000, is being transformed to provide a better experience for cricket enthusiasts. The renovation plan includes installing new "replay screens," LED floodlights, and increasing the seating capacity to 34,000 spectators ,

The Gaddafi Stadium has a rich history, hosting numerous international cricket matches, including the 1996 Cricket World Cup final between Sri Lanka and Australia ¹. With its fresh new look, the stadium is ready to host more thrilling matches and create unforgettable memories for cricket fans.

He's from a Pakistani cricketing family & his younger brother Ramiz who captained Pakistan being the most famous out of the lot.

During his 12 year international career which span from 1973-85, he went on to score over 3500 runs with 4 centuries & took 72 wickets in both formats.

One of his finest performances in Test cricket came during the 1976/77 West Indies tour in which scored 517 runs at an average of 57 & also claimed 7 wickets at an average of 18. Knowing for his attacking style of batting he smashed 14 sixes in that series.

After retirement he got married to a England lady & moved to England. He later became an ICC match referee & in 2006 died at the age of 54 due to a heart attack. On this day in 1952 former Pakistan batting all rounder late Wasim Raja was born.
