Why is Shadab playing and How is always the first to be dropped/benched despite always performing? Played just 4 ODIs and took 8 wickets at 22 average. Averages 20 in List-A cricket. If they make decisions based on PSL (even though they shouldn't), then Sufyan was the leading wicket-taker in PSL '26. If List-A is the criteria, he was the leading wicket-taker in the last President's Cup one-day tournament. Shadab was 28th in the same list. But he's obviously playing. And then they'll give him 1 match in the series (possibly a dead-rubber) to show that he's being given a fair chance as well.

When Rizwan led the team for the 1st time as the ODI captain, we spoke about how we've finally got an attacking captain. He kept persisting with his best bowlers to go for the kill rather than worrying who bowls at the death. We defeated Australia in Australia after 22 years. Whitewashed South Africa in South Africa. And then, PCB's genius chief selector didn't think to include openers in the CT'25 squad, made Saud & Babar open, ruined the team combination, and as usual, made Rizwan the scapegoat.
Lost his captaincy to Shaheen (who btw, finished CT'25 with 71 avg & 7.88 eco).
And now, he's quietly been dropped from the team altogether. Averages 40+ in ODIs and has been a part of some crucial run-chases. His last 5 ODIs, averages 56.7.
He's been sidelined but Ghazi Ghouri, with 21 average and 75 strike-rate in 12 List-A innings remains in place of him.
The fate of PCB is in the hands of such incompetent and unfaithful people.

Believe me, if Waqar Younis had his way, Babar Azam would’ve been dropped too, but it’s the public pressure that’s kept him in the team.

Anyway, friends, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf, who were dropped in the last series, somehow managed to make a comeback by playing ODI cricket and performing in who-knows-where.

It was great to see Ahmed Daniyal, Abdul Samad, Rohail Nazir, and Sufyan Muqeem included in the team.

By the way, Shaheen Afridi didn’t select any young fast bowlers like Ali Raza or Hannan Shah to protect Haris Rauf—lest they perform and take his spot.
This Friendship culture is killing pakistan cricket. These all old horses needs to be removed from team. Even Shaheen does not deserve a spot in the Pakistan Cricket Team
