OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
BKL PICKLEBALL CUP 2026 — CANCELLED
With a very heavy heart, I am announcing that the BKL Pickleball Cup 2026 is officially cancelled, effective immediately.
I know this is a last-minute decision. I know many players prepared, traveled, spent money, and made plans for this tournament. I am sincerely sorry.
But I need to be honest with everyone.
I have reached my limit. Di ko na kaya.
For days, the bashing has been non-stop—day and night. It wasn’t only social media posts and comments. There were continuous phone calls, messages, accusations, and personal attacks. My phone became a constant source of stress, and there was barely any time to breathe.
What hurts even more is that many people feel comfortable attacking others while hiding behind nicknames, anonymous accounts, or fake identities.
It’s easy to say hurtful things when you don’t have to show your name or face.
It’s easy to attack someone when you don’t have to see the person you’re hurting.
If you have a legitimate concern, I am willing to listen. If we made a mistake, I am willing to acknowledge it. If you disagree with a decision, we can discuss it.
But please have the courage to stand behind your words.
Don’t hide behind a nickname just to insult or attack another person.
At some point, this stopped being about the tournament and started affecting me as a human being.
We made mistakes. We acknowledge them. We apologized for our shortcomings and did our best to correct the problems that came up.
But I am human too.
I have feelings. I get hurt. I get tired. I have a family and people who care about me.
I understand that when you put yourself out there, people will talk.
People will criticize.
People will disagree.
People will bash.
Talk about me. Bash me if you want.
I cannot control what people say.
But I hope you understand that every call, every message, every accusation, and every hurtful word has an impact.
You affected me.
More than you probably realize.
BKL was created because we genuinely love pickleball.
We wanted to support athletes, create opportunities, organize tournaments, and help grow the sport.
But if the environment becomes so toxic that the people who genuinely want to contribute eventually become exhausted and walk away, then we need to ask:
Who will be left to build the sport?
People who genuinely love pickleball will eventually get tired.
Organizers will stop organizing.
Volunteers will stop volunteering.
Supporters will stop supporting.
And the sport will lose people who were willing to give their time, money, energy, and heart to it.
TO ALL PLAYERS
I am deeply sorry for this last-minute cancellation.
I know many of you were looking forward to playing, and I understand whatever disappointment or frustration you may feel.
But despite everything, we want to close this properly.
ALL PLAYERS WILL BE REFUNDED.
This includes players who already played, advanced, won medals, won cash prizes, or had not yet played.
Everyone will receive a refund of their registration fee.
The refund process and schedule will be announced separately.
I am not cancelling because I don’t care.
I am cancelling because I can no longer continue in an environment that has taken this much from me emotionally.
I know people will talk about this.
I know people will criticize this decision.
And that’s okay.
People will always talk.
But I hope that somewhere in all the discussions, people remember that there was a human being behind BKL who was simply trying to do something for a sport she loves.
We can disagree.
We can criticize.
We can hold each other accountable.
But let’s not forget to be human.
Let’s use social media to build the sport—not destroy the people who are trying to build it.
To everyone who supported BKL, defended us, trusted us, and believed in what we were trying to create—thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am truly sorry.
We were here because we love the sport.
