From recruitment to limited training sessions for both full contact and tag rugby, the journey to the Haring Agila Cup was never easy for the Tagum Palmeras. But in our VERY FIRST tournament appearance as a club, the boys stepped onto the field with heart, grit, and courage, leaving everyone surprised and beyond impressed with the level of performance they delivered. For first-timers in the game, finishing 2nd runners-up in Full Contact and 3rd runners-up in Tag Rugby is something we are truly proud of. Not bad for the first ever tournament of the Palmeras. ππ₯
Huge thanks to Davao Apo Rugby for hosting such a memorable event, and respect to all participating teams for giving it their all in both contact and tag rugby. This experience only fueled our hunger even more, the Palmeras will come back stronger, smarter, and more prepared for the battles ahead. The grind continues, and next time, we aim even higher.
To our sponsors, supporters, friends, and everyone who believed in us throughout the preparations, thank you for being part of this unforgettable milestone for the club. And most especially to our coaches, thank you for the guidance, knowledge, and passion you shared with these athletes. None of this wouldβve been possible without the people behind this amazing team. The Tagum Palmeras hope to continue growing the game, developing grassroots rugby in Tagum, and chasing even greater success in the future. π
