The Martial Arts Training Center of the Philippines (MATCOP) boasts a rich history dating back to 1975, founded by Sensei Romeo Tabano in Quezon Boulevard, Quiapo, Manila. Over the years, MATCOP established itself as a reputable self-defense school, forming partnerships with esteemed universities such as FEU, PCCR, FEATI, DBP, and PNPA. MATCOP gained recognition for producing champion kickboxers and karateka in the late 1980s. Following Sensei Tabano's migration to Guam, his nephew Shihan Antonio Plotria took the reins, ensuring MATCOP's legacy endured. As a Philippine National Police Academy instructor since 1986, Shihan Plotria has maintained MATCOP's credibility while expanding its influence.

That's the idea once upon a time..but not in Modern day..being great is less of a priority. Make friends to the high rank and the organization next thing you know waahluh just like cup noodle instant 10th Degree Grandmaster. You're a big joke man!

Indeed! For some they don't even have to practice to get the rank so no idea about the art? No discipline but he knew people inside the organization and that's good enough to jump from no belt to 10TH Degree Grandmaster. It was a form of disrespect to the people who dedicated their life practicing it was a disgrace to the Father of the Art in Organization and a lb disgrace to the Martial Arts community.
