A long way to go, but already further than where they started.
One of the best parts of coaching is watching progress happen in real time.
The movements here aren’t perfect yet. Not as quick, not as smooth as they’ll eventually be. But they’re getting there, taking what they learn in training and putting it into action.
That’s what development looks like.
Still figuring things out. Still showing up anyway.
And that’s enough for today. 📈

“THIS IS WHERE THE GAME BUILDS YOU!”
Yes, they’re getting better at the game, sharper skills, better reads, more confidence with the ball.
But that’s only half of it. What’s really being built underneath is character. How they respond to correction, how they show up on a hard practice, who they’re becoming when no one’s watching.
Basketball is how we meet them. Who they’re made to be, that’s the real work. 📈

HOOPER SPOTLIGHT: MAVEN 👀
From day one at Ascend Hoops, the love for the game was already there.
He picks up corrections fast. He doesn’t flinch when he gets something wrong, he just tries again. That’s rare in a kid his age, and it’s exactly what makes him coachable.
You can see it in his hustle too. Every rep, every drill, he’s chasing something more than just finishing the set.
Keep ascending, Maven. We’re excited to see how far you’ll go. 📈
