The Visayan Vipers outlasted Region V (BRAA), 10-7, to claim a hard-fought victory in the preliminary round of the Elementary Baseball tournament at the Palarong Pambansa 2026.

The team's victory relied on a collective effort from its roster, which includes Mark Cedrick Bacong, Ace Arnel Eder, Carl Arnel Eder, John Rheixt Nabias, Sean Mario Dizon, Leonil Pabalate, Aethan Vasquez, Nathan Samuel Dela Cruz, Daniel Gabriel Benjamin, Peter John Rosales, Prince Gian Geonigo, Rodel Navarro, Kert Luie Palparan, Gabriel Luis Joguilon, and John Carlo Enriquez.

Coaches Leocila D. Ibañez and Leah S. Atibagos steered the squad through the tight defensive stretches, making timely adjustments on the field to halt Region V’s rally.

With this solid 10-7 performance in the books, the Visayan Vipers improves its standing in the group stage as the baseball eliminations move forward.*

Represented by the core squad of STI West Negros University (STI-WNU)—and bolstered by elite selections from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) and University of St. La Salle (USLS)—the Visayan Vipers wasted no time flashing its fangs on Agusan del Sur grass.

The victory serves as a massive statement for the Visayan Vipers as it begins its quest for national glory under this year's “Palaro Tu Agsur”.*
