Holy Saturday, also known as 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑺𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒅𝒐 𝒅𝒆 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂, marks the final day of Holy Week and the quiet wait between Christ's crucifixion on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter Sunday. 🙏

It commemorates the Harrowing of Hell, the period when Jesus Christ's body lay in the tomb. 🩶

Good Friday in the Bible commemorates the arrest, trial, crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ, marking the day of his sacrificial death on the cross at Calvary. 🪽

It is a solemn day focusing on Jesus' suffering, his crucifixion between two thieves, and his death to atone for humanity's sins. 🙏

This day commemorates Jesus's last supper with his disciples. During that meal in the upper room, Jesus washed his disciples' feet and gave them a new commandment:

“𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓”(John 13:34). ✨

The word“Maundy”comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning“command.”📢

On this historic day, we honor the brave Filipinos who stood along 𝙀𝙥𝙞𝙛𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤 𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙨 𝘼𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙚 (𝙀𝘿𝙎𝘼) in 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟔, proving that collective action can restore freedom and democracy.
