RAIN OR SHINE, THE FIGHT GOES ON.
To Tatay, and to every Filipino worker who continues to show up despite the rainy days, long commutes, exhausting work, and body ache, we see you.
Even when your body feels tired and sore, you keep moving, working, and providing for the people who matter most.
It’s not always easy, but you keep going.
No shortcuts. No excuses. Just an honest fight for a better life.
Salute to every Filipino worker who never stops showing up.
One rainy evening, a customer ordered food for her family while heavy rain caused flooding in parts of the barangay. The delivery rider picked up the order despite the worsening weather. When the flood became too high for him to safely continue on his motorcycle, he left his bike at the barangay hall and walked through the flood to complete the delivery.
The delivery fee was only ₱45.
When he finally arrived, he was soaked and muddy. Yet instead of complaining about the difficult journey, he apologized to the customer for taking too long.
“Pasensya na po, Ma’am. Natagalan po.”
The customer offered him an additional tip out of gratitude, but he politely declined.
“Okay na po, Ma’am. Baka isipin ninyo humihingi ako ng tip. Trabaho ko lang naman po ito.”
And perhaps that is what makes this story so painful and beautiful at the same time.
Because behind those simple words was someone who was tired, wet, and probably just wanted to get home, but still chose to finish the job he had accepted.
He did not ask for praise.
He did not demand extra money.
He simply wanted to do his work and earn his living honestly.
While someone was safely waiting inside a home for dinner, another person was outside walking through floodwater to bring that dinner to them.
₱45 may be the delivery fee, but it could never measure the effort, courage, and sacrifice behind it.
There are people who work through storms because they cannot afford to stop. People who endure difficult roads not because they are fearless, but because someone at home is waiting for them to come back with something to bring to the table.
So the next time a rider arrives at your doorstep, rain-soaked, exhausted, and perhaps quietly fighting his own battles, remember that there is a human being behind that delivery.
Someone who, just like all of us, is simply trying to make it through life.
And sometimes, the smallest deliveries carry the biggest sacrifices.
To every rider who continues to work through the rain, the heat, the floods, and the uncertainty just to earn honestly
thank you.
May you always make it home safely to the people who are waiting for you.
