What does freedom ask of us today?
Perhaps it asks us to lead better.
To build with courage.
To serve with purpose.
To create workplaces and communities where every Filipino can rise.
This Philippine Independence Day, may we remember that freedom is not only something we celebrate.. it is also something we continue to shape.

What if HR has been measuring the wrong KPI all along?
For years, we've tracked Engagement, Turnover, Absenteeism and Headcount. But here's the uncomfortable truth, these metrics tell us what already happened. Not what's about to happen.
As AI, automation, and workforce transformation accelerate, organizations face a much bigger question:
How ready are our people for the future we're creating?
Because a workforce can be highly engaged today and still be unprepared for tomorrow.
A company can have low turnover and still have critical capability gaps.
A team can meet its targets while quietly accumulating future workforce risks.
In my latest article, I explore what I believe may become the most important workforce KPI of the next decade:
'Workforce Readiness'
A metric that every CEO, CHRO, and Board should be paying attention to.
If your Board asked today, "How ready is our workforce for what's next?"—would you have a data-driven answer?

“What the Pope Said About AI Should Matter to Every HR Leader.”
That sentence alone made me pause.
Recently, Pope Leo XIV released a powerful message about Artificial Intelligence—and surprisingly, many of the themes strongly resonate with what we in HR are experiencing today.
Here are my 5 biggest takeaways:
1. Human dignity must come first. People should never be reduced to data points, scores, or algorithms.
2. AI cannot replace accountability. Technology can recommend. Humans must still decide responsibly.
3. Efficiency should never override ethics. Faster processes mean nothing if fairness and trust are compromised.
4. AI literacy is now essential. Organizations must educate employees on responsible AI use—not just deploy tools.
5. The future of AI must include everyone. Innovation should create opportunities, not widen inequality.
As someone advocating for ethical and responsible AI in HR, I believe this conversation is no longer optional.
AI is not just transforming work. It is transforming humanity’s relationship with work.
And HR leaders stand at the center of that transformation.
The question is no longer: “What can AI do?”
The more important question is: “What SHOULD AI do—and how do we ensure it serves people with dignity, fairness, and purpose?”

Eid al-Adha reminds us that meaningful leadership is rooted not only in vision, but in humility, faith, and the willingness to serve something greater than ourselves.
May this season inspire leaders to build with purpose, compassion, and heart. Eid Mubarak!

One exam can shape a student’s future, a professional’s career, and the quality of talent entering our institutions.
Smart institutions know the goal is not just to administer examinations, but to make them more valid, secure, efficient, technology-enabled, and future-ready. In the Philippines, high-stakes examinations become more than tests. They become gateways to opportunity, public trust, and national progress.
The question is not: “How do we conduct exams faster?”
The better question is: “How do we protect the integrity of exams that shape people’s futures?”
