The final match of the Escalante Sunday League 1st Round lived up to every bit of the hype in a classic battle of youth vs. experience!

The young guns of Es High FT struck first, catching the keeper off guard when Keanne Hosmil masterfully headed the ball into the back of the net. But you can never count out the veterans. ANGKOLS dug deep, leaning on their experience as Joash Cabus fired home the equalizer to level the playing field.

With both teams hungry for the win, the defining moment came when ANGKOLS was awarded a crucial penalty. Dale Sulitas’ initial strike was brilliantly saved, but his quick reflexes on the follow-up sealed the comeback victory!

MATCH WEEK 8: A 5-GOLD THRILLER TO CLOSE OUT ROUND 1! 🔥

What a way to wrap up the first round of the Escalante Sunday League! BNHS FT came onto the pitch hungry to prove their worth and strengthen their league standing, walking away with a hard-fought 5-3 victory over a resilient CHF - Escalante squad.

How it unfolded:

BNHS FT caught CHF sleeping early in the first half, striking twice courtesy of Jhulian Contiga and Harry Linatoc. CHF’s winger Ramil Morial quickly answered back to shorten the gap, but BNHS FT responded immediately as Linatoc found the net again, securing his Man of the Match performance. Just before the halftime whistle, CHF’s Artaba found the back of the net to keep things tense at the break.

The second half brought even more fireworks. As CHF pushed for a comeback, Meñoza surprised the CHF backline to push BNHS FT's lead to 4-2. CHF refused to back down, with Liguaton firing home to keep hope alive—but a stunning, late strike from Mediana sealed the deal, locking in the 5-3 final score.

What a match, what a league! Round 1 is officially in the books.

Angkols pull off a massive comeback win last Sunday, bagging 3 vital points and strengthening their position in the standings. Never count the veterans out!
