Tai Chi vs Strength Trainingâď¸
Tai Chi is calm, controlled, almost meditative. It teaches you to breathe, to slow down, to move with intention. Itâs beautiful⌠but letâs not lie to ourselvesâit wonât build the kind of strength that carries you through real physical demands.
Strength training is raw. Itâs uncomfortable. It forces you to face resistance, literally and mentally. It builds something you can feelâstrength, power, presence. But go all-in without balance, and you become stiff, beat up, and disconnected from your body.
Some people hide in Tai Chi because itâs safe. Some people hide in strength training because it feeds their ego.
One avoids struggle. The other avoids stillness.
Both can be excuses.
At the end of the day, your body doesnât care about trends or philosophies. It reflects what you consistently do.
So ask yourselfâAre you training to feel goodâŚor to actually become capable?
Because those are not always the same thing.

This morning reminded me why I love teaching Taichi.
Thank you to JCI Candahug Liberation, Inc. and Dr. Michelle O Sanchez for inviting me to be your Taichi instructor for the JCI Fit2Lead Event.
Seeing leaders slow down, move with intention, and reconnect with their bodies is always powerful.
Truly grateful for the trust and opportunity
