4x4 Half-Court League Rules (Full-Court Ruleset)
1. Roster & Lineup
On Court: 4 players per team.
Roster Limit: Max 6 or 7 players per team roster.
Substitutions: Allowed on any dead ball through the referee at the top of the key.
2. Game Clock & Timeouts
Game Duration: Two 10 to 12-minute halves (Running clock).
Final Minute Stop-Clock: Clock stops on every dead ball/whistle in the last 1 minute of the 2nd half.
No Target Score: The winner is simply the team leading when time runs out.
Timeouts: One (2) 30-second timeout per team per half (clock stops).
Overtime (OT): A 5-minute overtime period if tied at regulation. Clock stops in the last 30 seconds of OT.
3. Full-Court Scoring System
Inside the Arc (Layups / Mid-range): 2 Points
Outside the Arc: 3 Points
Free Throws: 1 Point each
4. Possession & Ball Movement
Initial Possession: Determined by toss coin.
Check-and-Pass (Pasa Muna):
After any made basket, turnover, or dead ball, play restarts at the Top of the Key with a defender check.
The offensive player taking the check must pass the ball to a teammate before a shot or drive can be attempted.
Clearing Rule (Take-Back):
On defensive rebounds, steals, or airballs, the team gaining possession must clear the ball behind the 3-point line (both feet or ball behind the arc) before shooting.
Offensive Rebounds: No need to clear; the offensive team can go straight for a putback.
5. Standard Full-Court Foul & Penalty System
All personal and team fouls follow standard 5v5 full-court basketball rules.
Personal Foul Limit: 5 Personal Fouls per player \rightarrow Player fouls out and is disqualified for the rest of the game.
Shooting Fouls:
Missed 2-pt attempt \rightarrow 2 Free Throws
Missed 3-pt attempt \rightarrow 3 Free Throws
Made basket + Foul \rightarrow Count the basket + 1 Free Throw ("And-One")
Team Foul Penalty:
5th Team Foul in a half puts the opposing team in the Penalty / Bonus.
All non-shooting defensive fouls in the bonus result in 2 Free Throws.
Team fouls reset at halftime.
Technical & Unsportsmanlike Fouls:
1 Free Throw + Ball possession at the top of the key for taunting, rough play (sikuhan), or excessive arguing.
2 Technicals = Immediate Ejection.
